RE: Haley and Casey at House of Blues in West Hollywood on 2-15-13
^^Yes, I'm familiar with both, which is why I suggested it might become his signature song. Perhaps it's a degree of comfort with it, that vocally, this is one of his best efforts. He doesn't constrict his vocal chords, and the result is that his voice is fuller, more complete and more polished.
Regarding the top vid: With Casey's early efforts, I'm never sure whether they are about his musical talents, his video editing skills, some combination of both, something else all together, or....????
Final note: Casey's ability to play many instruments is mind boggling, but the clarinet is not his friend. I do believe this is the first time that I've noticed that we hear the clarinet before we see it. Casey Abrams -- ever the clown!

Hey Midnight, when you relocate back to CA in the near future you'll be able to attend these local shows as well!

Harry had already heard your youtube earlier in the day so someone must have given him the link. Maybe Haley???
Huh, I can't imagine how she could have heard of me other than this site or the Stageit shows. I've talked to Haley several times, but I don't think I ever introduced myself by name, either Yanni or John. Thanks again Himm2 and Tusk for sharing it with the Reinharts.

Thanks for bringing us The Tasty Jam Cakes Yanni!!
I listened to the show last night and one thing that I remember thinking is... Maybe these two should just go ahead & start a band together because it works so well w/ the both of them as frontmen...frontpeople...you know what I mean. The 70% Haley/30% Casey vocal split, like they did in this show, was perfect. Casey has a great voice, it adds variety, & the two of them play off of each other so well, but you'd want the vocal phenom that is Haley Reinhart to be singing lead vocals most of the time. Anyway I have some reservations about that though... Well mainly just that I like the musical direction Haley's taken more than Casey's... but that's about it.
Speaking of phenominal vocals. Did this performance of "Hit the Ground Running" just flat out blow anyone else away? I'm going to listen to it again but I'm thinking that was one of Haley's best vocals ever. Is there any video of that one?

You can't help but think what they could come up with if they ever got together and got serious about it.There's the obvious chemistry that they have both personally and musically and both have a wide range of material to draw from. They can take a song like L-O-V-E and turn it into something special.
You could envision them doing a kind of cabaret act together but also putting out high quality music form a variety of different genres,They both might have their own following but there's definitely an audience for the two of them together.
As far as them starting a band together -I don't know.Haley's main priority-(and his) has to be her own solo career right now so we'll have to see how all that enfolds in the near future.

Ole keeping the conversation (and 'top of mind') going for Haley on Twitter...
Quote:ole (oh-lay)@olemajorlyindie
Hey #Haliens! Who went to see @HaleyReinhart at the @HOBSunset on Friday night? What was your fave song from the night?...
... I would say, hands down, by a landslide, only heroes, no zeroes, it has to be L.O.V.E.
(and one reason, IMO, why no one mentioned that they didn't do "Moanin'", which I think we all expected would be performed at a Caley show. We were all over the moon at how great L.O.V.E was... )
It's a new Caley Colab and the scatting, harmonies, fun and musicality made it a musical moment for them
