James surpassed Lauren in sales for a week. That surprises me a bit. I expect her to get a bigger bump now that she is touring as an opening act for a more established name.

Scotty's doing the same. So are they not returning to school? Or do they just fly in to perform on weekends? I know they can do schooling remotely like they did on Idol but it seems less likely when left to their own devices.

In regards to their schooling, I suspect that Scotty will continue, even if left to his own devices. He seems to have a great deal of internal motivation. plus being a pretty sensible kid. Lauren, on the other hand, may need more guidance in that respect. I certainly hope, for her sake, that she has that guidance.

Scotty and Lauren are both going to school remotely via the Internet. In fact, Scotty is hoping to attend a university in Nashville starting next fall to get a four year degree. He says that it will probably be for something music industry related.

I saw Scotty was accepted to East Carolina and was waiting to hear from other schools.

“I’ve gotten into East Carolina. That’s the first place that I’ve heard back from today. I’ve applied to North Carolina State as well. Also, Belmont University and Tennessee State. We’ll see where I end up, but we’re not certain yet.”

The ECU Admissions Twitter feed welcomed the Garner High School singer Tuesday morning, but the tweet has since been removed.

The announcement of admission status is up to applicants, according to university spokeswoman Mary Schulken, “and we want to treat Scotty the same way we would treat any other potential student. The tweet was not consistent with policy so we took it down.”

The tweet stated: “A big welcome to #ECU to @ScottyMcCreery, last year’s American #Idol winner, country music star and our newest PIRATE!”

If I was him I would try to get booked to perform on AI to see if he could reignite the spark with some of his fans that might have lost touch of him.

Based on the conventional conspiracy theory, they will let Durbin, Scotty and Lauren back on the show and not allow Haley. But that won't be the case.

I picture Haley's return on March 1. It will be live not recorded and it will be preceded by an extended standing ovation from the crowd, the welcome of a returning hero, and it will be a huge boost in viewership.
