RE: Haley's in the studio.
I was just thinking about the fact Rob Kleiner has a writing credit on "Oh, My." Since it's his baby I'm sure he would want to do an exceptional job on it. And I think he can.
Here he is performing a song he wrote that was inspired by Pac-Man:
Lyrics:
Quote:You devour me to disarm me
Then I haunt you because I want you
No extra terrestrial girl
Pepper, you chew up my world
Yes it's true, dot dot dot
Yes I do, dot dot dot
If you're lonely, you know where to find me
If you're hungry, come feast on my body
Pack it up, pack it in, this soul's got the blues
I want to be consumed by you
I'm the ghost with the most, babe, I am supernatural
Chasing you through this maze for days
No light at the end of this tunnel
My heart's always hungry for trouble
Yes it's true, dot dot dot
Yes I do, dot dot dot
If you're lonely, you know where to find me
If you're hungry, come feast on my body
Pack it up, pack it in, this soul's got the blues
I want to be consumed by you
If you're lonely, you know where to find me
If you're hungry, come feast on my body
Pack it up, pack it in, this soul's got the blues
I want to be consumed by you

RE: Haley's in the studio.
That song he wrote as part of Super 8 Bit Brothers, so the work had a particular theme.
Wouldn't it be funny if Haley takes the Idol stage March 1st to debut her first single and it sounds something like this from another band he was in called Tub Ring (skip to 1 minute mark):
Rob's on the keyboards there. Literally. He had quite a bit of energy for a 31-year-old.
His big break was co-writing this song:
Quote:Since graduating from college over a decade ago, Kleiner has devoted his life to music. He’s been with his band Tub Ring for over 10 years, at one point playing nearly 200 shows per year throughout various countries. He’s also one half of Nintendo/electro pop duo Super 8 Bit Brothers, and has been involved with New York City synth-punk act Mindless Self Indugence. If that weren’t enough, Kleiner can also claim to have been a member of infamous Windy City punk band the Blue Meanies, even if his stint was incredibly short-lived - the band broke up two days after he joined. When not performing, he has also scored independent films and produced material for other artists.
The "Eclipse" opportunity came about, he explained, via a friend and fellow songwriter who uses the moniker "Oh, Hush!." The songwriter had ties to a publishing deal and asked if Kleiner might be interested in co-writing a song to submit for Green's contribution to the film, knowing he was a huge fan of Gnarls Barkley. The two decided to take a stab at it while keeping their expectations low, fully aware their work would be competing against a long list of other tracks.
“It was a long shot, but it seemed like something that would be worth the effort,” Kleiner said. “Then when it was done everything just happened really quick – the label wanted to buy it and Cee-Lo was tracking it two days after we gave it to him - it was crazy.”
...Although clearly driven and dedicated to his craft, Kleiner said that he never saw an opportunity quite as game-changing as the soundtrack placement coming - especially since he works as a completely DIY artist with no manager, agent, or publisher. He equates it to “a rookie hitting a grand slam on his first at bat…which also happens to be in the World Series.”
To Kleiner, this "grand slam" means not only a greater amount of monetary compensation for his work than ever before, but also a significant jolt to his career – a career that, up until recently, he thought would be focused on making music for indie films.
“The money is for sure a godsend, but honestly what’s more important is the doors that this is opening for me,” he said. “By the end of the year I’ll be able to have a platinum record that I can hang up in my little home studio, and I’m going to be able to work with artists of different calibers.”
So far, the new opportunities include being asked to work on a track for Green’s upcoming solo album, as well as to write for other well-known names that he can’t yet divulge.

“What Part of Forever" he penned especially for Gnarls Barkley. So he appears to be versatile.

RE: Haley's in the studio.
I found an old Haley interview from the end of May where she described what kind of album she would make.
Quote: Most of the stuff that I've written so far is pretty much like an R&B sultry kind of feel; mostly like just motivational-worldly type stuff. And as far as, you know, what I really want to develop into, I definitely like the sultry, bluesy feel...rock...I mean I love classic rock, and everything. But as far as singing it myself, it's something I recently tapped into also. That would be cool to incorporate that as well.

RE: Haley's in the studio!
(11-29-2011, 01:51 AM)Miguel Wrote: Rune Westberg, "Danish born songwriter/producer living and working in Los Angeles."
Under "work in progress" on his website he stated on 11/11/11:
Working with Haley and MoZella on Haley’s forthcoming album. Super cool soulful pop. Haley was on Idol 2011, she’s signed to Interscope.
That was listed under "Work in Progress." On IF, Stairway2Halien noted he now has this listed under "Discography" (as of 2/10/12):

RE: Haley's in the studio.
BradonC15 found this on Facebook and posted it on IF:
Quote:Andrew Haller
Finnishing up some great sessions with Haley Reinhart and Shy Carter.Shy wrote a couple of #1 hits for Sugarland last year.
(BB magazine a year ago):
Quote:Don’t let the bashful nickname fool you: Blake “Shy” Carter has arrived in a decidedly bold way. And if things go according to plan, the Memphis-born songwriter/producer will be dominating the charts for years to come.
In an historically-impressive crossover move, Carter has transitioned from writing and producing tracks for urban music leaders like Nelly and Ashanti, to penning full-tilt chart-busters for—wait for it—country and pop acts. “Stuck Like Glue,” the folksy confection Carter co-wrote for Grammy-winners Sugarland, has shocked some country music listeners with its pseudo-rap break. But shock segued into love as “Stuck Like Glue” became the highest debut ever on the Billboard Hot 100 for a country group or duo.
As if that accomplishment wasn’t remarkable enough, yet another Carter collaboration—Rob Thomas’ philosophical pop hit “Someday”—has spent over 40 weeks in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.
Carter suggests that these hits are not flukes, but part of a grander scheme. “People don’t know a lot about me, but I’ve been in the lab crafting a sound that will fit with white folks, black folks,” he says. “I believe in the basics, and giving people songs that can be sung whenever, wherever. While everybody else was doing these dance songs that were getting played out, I just said, ‘I don’t want any of this electronic stuff.’ ”

Quote:Originally from Brooklyn New York, Andy Haller has been working professionally in the recording industry close to 20 years…
From an early age, Andy showed a love for music. At the age of 8 he was taking Violin lessons then switched to trumpet before finally finding the guitar at the age of 13. By the time he was 15, he was practicing between 6 to 8 hours a day. After graduating high school, he studied music formally at the Grove School of Music, earning a certificate of completion with a major in guitar.
While playing in different rock bands in the early 90’s, Andy was recording an album at a studio in West L.A. and he asked the engineer for a job. The engineer referred him to the Village Recorder and was hired on the spot as a runner.
The exposure to the studio world was one of the best things that could have happened to him. While tending to his duties at the studio, Andy was requested to play guitar for some of the clients. He ended up playing on several track’s that Dr. Dre was there producing. Snoop Dogg’s “Doggie Style” and Janet Jackson’s soundtrack to “Poetic Justice” being among them.
From there Andy was recruited by the Record Plant in Hollywood Ca, as staff engineer/assistant to the likes of Mike Shipley, Ed Cherney, Humberto Gatica and Dave Thoener. In the process of engineering several big albums, Andy recorded a duet for Eric Benet featuring Tamia called “Spend my life with you”. That song went to #1 on the billboard charts and had a Grammy nomination for best R&B single in 2000. From there, Andy Haller has not looked back.
Working regularly with industry titan’s Tim and Bob, Andy Haller has engineered, mixed and/or played on some of the biggest stars in the industry including Jennifer Lopez, Brian McKnight, Earth wind and Fire and Will Smith.
