Should I feel guilty that this makes me happy?

BTW, when My mother did that, I stood up and shot a look at her.... WTF? out of all of Haley's songs to play, she choses "Spiderweb" for people to dance to?

Sure enough, I looked at the dance floor, and there was kind of a confusion with it because they don't know it. My Mom got on the mic and said "Viennese Waltz" (I think) after which people partnered up and started to dance. My mother said it was definitely a song you could dance a waltz to: 1,2,3 1,2.3 1,2,3 LOL

Of course when Haley starts really rocking out the choruses, my Mom turned it down and played something more conventional

Nice of my Mom to do that as a surprise for me as thnx for helping her set up. I told her next time, think about "Oh My"

And good for your Mom recognizing that it's in 3/4 time -- a waltz.

As one who played and sang (harmony) in a dance band for 7 years (many years ago), I do know that unless the song has the sound of a Strauss waltz or the word "waltz" is in the title (i.e. The Tennessee Waltz), dancers are often confused when a song is in 3/4, but doesn't have a strong, identifiable "waltz" feel. (In our case, people would come up and ask if we could play a waltz right after we'd finished something that one could waltz to. And it happened every single time.)

And, btw, Tusk (or Anthony, if you prefer), it looks like you made that leap -- or deep dive, depending how you view it -- and established a Twitter account. I'm not certain whether I should offer congratulations or condolences.
