Odd such an immediate answer, they must be fairly small, could they have anticipated these questions after leaving a youtube comment?... still seems far fetched ... but...

See what I just posted. They could license the recordings Haley has made. For them, it would make sense because they make money on a small amount of sales and she has the potential to sell more than most of their artists. It would make sense for Haley because she presumably gets some distribution and a better return financially in the short-term and long-term.

Another possibility is she has signed with them to produce a Jazz album in the future (that is one of the genres their site mentions).

Another genre listed is adult contemporary.

It's also possible that an independent label is going to give her more freedom to do her mixed genre.

Not sure how I feel about this, if true. On the one hand..I want Haley on the radio, damnit. I want to see her have a shot at commercial success.

On the other hand, an independent label would provide more artist creativity and essentially job security for Haley. Not to mention, indie artists have become more commercially successful as of late. (Louisa Rose Allen -vocalist on clarity-, Macklemore) As much as DeAndre certainly hasn't been a commercial success, from a standpoint from watching his career..certainly the smaller more independent label is more supportive.

edit: Also, if Haley did have to move (which I doubt she would) although she wouldn't have Casey She would have Scotty (who she actually seemed to have a very good relationship with on the show) and Lauren (who we all know adores her..) And any other idol country artist that she knows.

Ms. Scheer has a CD for sale. One thousand copies were made. Produced by Keep You Soul Records, an LA based company that apparently finds artists on Youtube. The "keep your soul" aspect sounds similiar to the shtick that sc1212able pitches. Hmm

On youtube, the guy posted this:

"Haley is signed to ARTIST MANAGEMENT COMPANY 19 ENTERTAINMENT, which. is part of Sony Records"

I feel like he had good intentions and probably does work for a studio, but not the insider man, and was passing along something that he heard or misheard. It seems, like after he e-mailed people, this is what he came up with, which we all already know.

Even if the guy was wrong about Compass, it doesn't mean something - label or something else -- isn't happening in Nashville. There's got to be some reason why he heard Haley's name was being talked about in Nashville.

This doesn't even get into the grammatical and spelling errors, as well as the over/mis use of capitals (he also didn't capitalize 'dolly')....

19 isn't part of Sony, but Sony used to have a tie to Idol.

2010:

...The Sony collaboration helped spawn hits for Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson...

Casey James was signed by Sony Nashville and Kellie Pickler was with them until last year. So I can understand how someone in the country music segment who doesn't have a complete understanding of the big picture might think there is a tie between 19 and Sony.
