One of Haley's unreleased tracks is on Christina Grimmie's new album

I have to say when I listen to the song, it seems like Haley strains during the choruses a bit, and I have often wondered if she didn't pick it for her album because she thought it'd be too hard on her throat to sing it every night.

Still, I love the song, and it's ingrained in my head and heart with Haley's voice. I will be so happy for Haley if it becomes a hit.

I will however, give a little nod to my inner 2 year old who really, REALLY wants Haley to be a smash hit for the exact same reasons Tusk gave. I could tattoo on my forehead, "See, I told you Haley was going to be a huge superstar!!" That's probably not a wise tattoo to get, but I would be shouting from the rafters, for sure!!

^^^ The Carole King analogy is very good. She was a songwriter for many years before the Tapestry album. One could equate Adele's breakthrough album as similar to the huge out-coming of Carol King's Tapestry album in 1970.

I've said this before...maybe on my drum that others find different...what does it matter what others believe or say about Haley if you like her? The human condition seems to need to be reinforced about our likes by others. We show people what we like and look for their approval, we get some gratification/satisfaction that we are "ok" or somewhat "normal". We know what we have heard and we love it...in the end, if others come around to praise our affection...well, that's ok, but it doesn't validate our original choice to love her music. Time has a way of clarifying what is excellent, and sometimes the world never comes on board with what is truly great. Sometimes only a handful of people really appreciate what is significant and the masses miss it completely...wow, that's a big soap box Buzz...just made it in my garage (Do you like it? )

Underlying my earlier comments is a concern that Haliens send a burst of negativity in Grimmies direction. I don't support that at all. Let it go. One element of the criticism can be construed as "Don't you dare sing one of HER songs" and a possible outcome is that an artist would pass on the Haley Reinhart song next time around.

I'm sure the Haliens who went off on Christina for whatever reason, don't realize that they're actually a liability to Haley when they do this for the very reason that John points out here.

I realize that "Get Yourself Together" was a fan favorite among Haley's unreleased tracks, but she never intended for us to hear those in the first place.

I'd hate to think that Haley's going to have to succeed in spite of her surely fanbase, that unintentionally alienate her by picking fights w/ other artist's & their fanbases. I'm sure it's a small minority of Haliens that do this but they do some damage.

FAN s attidudes MATTER ! I know people in the industry read forums and comments... certainly not every day and every forum.. but it was pretty clear on AI this year that they were reading slezak and looking at some of the comments by the things the judges said in the comments.

Haley has a bunch of Jerks following her? they read all that grumbling and crap ? Put crap and something super side by side in the mind and it doesn't help the super.

DON'T badmouth interscope on forums. Thank them for giving her a chance ! (even if you don't mean it in your heart the negativity works against haley)

Go to Christina's blog or youtube thing and PRAISE her for covering a Haley song.. Say that you got interested in her because she was singing a haley Song !

It's a better day that way. But there are real dividends too. I'm sure I get better deals on things by being empathetic and positive to checkers or desk clerks. You can be firm and ask for a good deal while also being positive (I will raise a holy shit-fit if the charm doesn't work and I feel I'm entitled to something.. but I try nice first)

Every choice as to what song to sing is probablly a really close one.. there are factors pulling this way and that. Even if negative fans are a 1% factor.. if its running 50/50 those negative fans might tilt it the wrong way for Haley.

Be positive... say good things about everyone(you can say things like "I wish Haley had it on the radio because I love herbut you're lucky .. its a great song and I'm happy to hear part of her through you!"

I'm glad you guys have a sense of humor about that (tattoo on forhead! haha) I caught myself thinking like that after I gave my brothers and sister LU copies and they didn't love it straight away (they will eventually : ) .. maybe ) . Feeling special about what someone else does, not what I do, and even worse.. what a bunch of teenage girls who determine who a star is think about something someone else does...... well I took a look at myself after that dawned on me : )

If Haliens were to purchase "Get Yourself Together," the number of downloads for it might encourage Christina's fans to download it as well. If the song proves popular, who knows, it might garner consideration for a single.

In short, spend 99 cents because it might be beneficial to Haley.

I just bought it as well. I'm glad Christina didn't completely redo the song, it still uses the original track and background vocals, the only thing different is that it's not Haley.
Still though, I liked it, I thought she did a decent job with it.
