We never did get to serenade Haley with this song did we? Oh Well.

I saw Haley's name on NBC tonight...watching the Bears play the Steelers someone held up a sign that read:
"FIRE HALEY NOW"
but it was referring to the Steeler's offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

Dolly was 27 when "Jolene" was released in October, 1973. It reached #1 on the BB Country chart and #44 on the Adult Contemporary chart. I heard it a fair amount back in the day even though I didn't listen to country music. I can't imagine what is #44 on the AC chart today (BB site only shows the top 15). Makes me think it's even harder to chart today.

Haley has a wonderful gift that she is able to harmonize effortlessly with those singing around her. She adds to the quality of the songs with her different layers and textures. I could listen to her all day.
