That's amazing that they didn't want to salvage photos and other mementos. I've heard that it's generally the irreplaceable that people miss the most in disastrous situations. I'm glad the homeowners that you spoke with seemed upbeat. Hopefully, they can rebuild their lives fairly quickly, but what a way to do it!
That second photo is astonishing. Is the trail from the upper right side the path of the tornado as it came in or as it left?
