I honestly think the only reason they got compared to Caley was because of some of Sierra's resemblance. I think she looks a little like Haley, but they also have very similar facial expressions etc.. (Obviously, they aren't anything close vocally, although I like Sierra's voice..) I won't even lie..I originally liked these two the best because she reminded me of Haley.

The guy was always way more Phillip Phillips/Kris Allen than Casey. (Although, for him..I'd argue he's more talented than the two of them..)

I dunno, last finale she performed on The Voice, and this season she was a guest coach. Would she really do both? (although it would be hilarious if she did..and I'm sure The Voice doesn't even consider xfactor competition any longer.) Could xfactor even afford it?

There's a part of me that would really like to see Haley get to perform on The Voice. Just a little knife twist on Idol. If she did the right song..it could be huge for her..(Like A Great Big World..) but..she'll need a lot of things before something like that happens..

Alex and Sierra WON the X Factor tonight! I'm happy for them. They have grown on me, and are very cute together, and definitely have a connection on stage. I think Haley's voice is much more powerful than Sierra's, but I have a feeling A & S are going to do well. Lucky them. Better get that album out quickly Simon!

Babbs, Alex and Sierra seem to have a fairly large fan club. I am not one of that fan club, but I can't deny that the fan club was enough to get them the win.

Their future success will be determined by a number of things. Currently we know that they've been able to perform fairly decent arrangements of songs largely selected by Simon (or Simon's minions). Whoever did that song selection, for the most part, did a good job. As they move forward, they will be in charge of that selection. Will they be as good at picking material that works for them and that will be relevant/marketable?

Secondly, Sierra displayed an amazing arc of vocal improvement. But, as a contestant on the show, she probably had a great deal of vocal coaching. That coaching ended sometime before "showtime" last night. So unless she pays for vocal lessons herself, her singing efforts may return to the level she was at when the show started. While I don't mean to sound unkind (although I imagine it will come across that way), to me Alex's talent is only somewhat above average, and of the two, he's the more talented. Sooner or later, the A&S audience may wake up to that.

Finally, there is their much touted "chemistry." Recently (was it just a couple of weeks ago?) there was comparison of them to Haley and Casey. Fortunately, that comparison abated shortly after it arose, because it really wasn't a good similarity.

However, today I saw a mention of a comparison that fits better (like a glove) to me: Donnie and Marie. Granted the sister/brother relationship isn't the "lover" relationship, but the individual who made this analogy (on Slezak's TVLine), is thinking of the "cheesy" factor. Some (and I am one) just don't find the "lovey dovey" act to be compelling, cute, or believable. And, frankly, Donnie and Marie are better singers and entertainers. So, if the A&S fans start realizing that, will their fans stick with them? I don't know the answer to that, and neither do you; only time will tell.

If Alex and Sierra are successful, it will only prove once again how minimal (at best) talent gets rewarded (think Rihanna), and the better/best often does not. And that saddens, offends, and sickens me.

I really don't think Alex and Sierra are minimal talent as compared to the rest of the pop market.

They aren't as great as some of the best contestants on these shows. But the contestants on these shows are far more talented than a majority of pop acts.

At the end of the day, Sierra's vocals (and I think her improvement is far more to do with confidence than training) >>>> Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepson, Selena Gomez..I could go on and on.. Where they as good as The Voice's counterparts in Jacquie or Tessanne..absolutely not. But that's not necessary to be successful.

Sierra's vocals are distinctive, and that's what's important in a pop market. So long as the two of them have great songs and great promotion, they'll be fine. And this, simplistic style, that A&S go for is popular right now.

And Alex is more talented than any WGWG Idol has ever had, with the exception of Scotty (if he counts.).

I completely agree about Sierra and Alex not being similar to Haley and Casey. They're like if Philip Phillips and Caroline Pennell formed a duo..
