The New Year (2014) and Halien reflections

I think we all have our desires as fans for what we want our favorite musician to be, and the success we want them to have. Listen Up was so amazing, that it really should have been much more successful. We also don't want to go through the risk of having our favorite artist stuck in limbo, without a label, and without the ability to put out music. And finally, we're a fan of a contestant from a competition show..we want to be right. We want that gratification.

In terms of my reflections from this past year, my mentality has changed a lot. I post a lot about Michelle Chamuel in her thread. I'm really more positive about her, than any other contestant I've been a fan of..that she could be a pop star if she wanted to. (Because of her resources.) But she didn't. From the very beginning she said she wanted to be a little bit outside of the Music Industry. She wants control of everything. I was disappointed at first. But I get it now. And I have so much music from her that I actually have to organize it all, with a promise of having a significant amount of more music. And as it turns out, the only thing I really care about is the ability to listen to more of her music, and get the opportunity to see her perform.

And I don't know what Haley wants. I know I love her voice. I know I love the songs that she writes, and the genres that she dips into. But as a fan, I want what will make her most happy, and the only thing that I really care about as a fan is that she continues making music, and I get the opportunity to see her live.

In American Idol fashion, five kids fighting childhood cancer take The Buckhead Theatre stage. They’ll perform with the band before a live audience, and a panel of judges who know music… Our star-studded cast includes American Idols Anthony Fedorov, Bo Bice, and Haley Reinhart!

Too bad Haley's Judging there isn't 1 week later as I will be driving right thru Atlanta on March 28th to Birmingham, AL to see the White Sox play their AA Farm Team as the last game of spring training.


Haley Reinhart
With a vocal style that landed somewhere between a jazzy croon and a throaty, soulful belt, Haley Reinhart became an American Idol finalist in 2011.
She began singing as an 8-year-old, eventually earning a spot in her parents’ cover band while attending high school in Wheeling, Illinois. After graduating in 2009, Reinhart began studying jazz at nearby Harper College. Her first audition for American Idol arrived the following year, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2010, when Reinhart returned to auditions for a second time, that she advanced to the semi-finals. Pitted against rock singers and country crooners, Reinhart became one of the more unique performers during the show’s tenth season, performing a mix of old classics (“Bennie and the Jets,” “Steppin’ Out with My Baby”) and contemporary hits (Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”).
