RE: James Durbin: Era 2.0

I got a new job a couple of months ago and it's very demanding of my time. As a result I don't have as much free time as I used to search for every video, photo and article about James or any other Idol for that matter. And because of this my interest has waned.
I noticed and it made me a bit sad as I had come to value your contributions. I tried to keep the home fires burning for you because you had put so much effort into this thread. But as you note it is time consuming to follow one Idol, let along many. So I probably won't be updating it often going forward.
You're always welcome to post here.
I hope you will continue to do so.

Is James traveling alone? If so, that might leave more money in his pocket. But boy, that would be lonely -- a real test of his commitment.

RE: James Durbin: Era 2.0
^^^^That is nice of James. He seems like a sweet guy. Plus, he adopts senior pets--so he's A#1 in my book <3

RE: James Durbin: Era 2.0
James' hometown paper:
Quote:"('Memories') was recorded, mixed, mastered, produced and pressed on CD with artwork and everything in two and a half weeks," said Durbin, who finishes his current tour with a hometown date at the Catalyst on Saturday.
..."I'm very, very grateful to have had the opportunity to record one album, let alone two," said Durbin, who turned 25 in January. "On the other hand, I wanted to do it this time how it was supposed to be done. With this record, I really took my time. I focused on writing songs, which is a liberty I didn't have with the first record."
..."With 'Memories,' the only song that I wrote, that really came from me, was 'Higher Than Heaven,'" said Durbin. "With 'Celebrate,' I was at every single session. The words crawled out of my head, down my sleeve and onto the paper. It's much more a part of me than 'Memories' will ever be."
...But ('Memories') also played on the image that "Idol" had built of Durbin. In a show that had emphasized big voices in a mainstream setting, Durbin emerged as the show's nod to heavy metal, and the tag lingered even after the show was over.
"I was labeled as the 'metal guy,' yeah," he said. "It was really a case of when you see that you're getting attention in one place, you think, yeah, let's go over there. And they let you try it and have fun with it. Over the past couple of years, I chilled out and focused on me, and remembered who I was before 'Idol.' Because it really did change me. I had to bring myself down and wait for my big head to deflate and fall back to Earth."
