Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project

I just think Haley is bad at advertising herself.

She's not good with social media. And she probably feels uncomfortable asking people for things. I remember Allison Iraheta being exactly the same way. (Didn't even tweet about her own album, Adam Lambert did it, and then nudged her to at least retweet him.)

For me, my concern is just with credibility and her future. Despite it being slow, I really like the direction of where Haley's career seems to be going. She's done quite well with Ole, and seems to be highly regarded (and a rising star) there.

These kickstarter campaigns..as well as being a former reality television singing competition contestant..may actually hurt her.

One of the things often discussed by IDF in The Voice forum, is "How come Christina Grimmie isn't signed." She's got over 300,000 twitter followers, 2 million youtube subscribers, went on tour with Selena Gomez...why does she need The Voice?" And the answer is simple, she's not a song writer. You need great songs (and by great..I mean catchy and marketable) in order to sell. You give a great song to a new artist and it's not a guaranteed hit like if you give it to Rihanna or Katy Perry.

Therefore, if Haley develops a reputation as a great songwriter (Which, IMO, she is. Listen Up could have had at least 2 huge hits with "Oh My" and "Undone" and I'd suggest that "Follow Me I'm Right Behind You," "Walking on Heaven," "Keep Coming Back," and "Let's Runaway" all could have done really well on radio too.) she'll be a lot easier of a sell to labels. Not only that, but if she has a history of writing hits (Like that "American Girl" singer did) she'll have a lot easier of a time on radio.

Therefore, I really hope she sticks with songwriting as her main focus until she is able to release new music from a label that can support her. I'm excited about this video..but I do have some concerns.

Quite a back and forth today in Idol Forums on what’s next for Haley, and her approach to her career. But Himm2 apparently is privy to some pending big and good news for Haley…which is sweet music to my ears!

In reading the posts, I agree that I was one of those frustrated Haliens that last year wished and begged Haley would find an established band or form a band and hit the road. Look what she did at Buffalo Grove in just a week of preparation! She would blow the roof off of most small clubs and venues.

But as was noted, what was the point of hitting the road to promote a CD for a label that dropped her. Why do it if she is not promoting new music?. And, the gig with four guys and a van approach just does not appear to be her thing.

This part of my response on IDF was probably a little over the top. I understand fans wanting Haley to go on tour. I'd like to see her tour too. I just don't think Haley &/or the people advising her thought the situation, at the time, wasn't right for a tour to do much to further her career & I agree w/ them.

I'm not all that crazy about kickstarter type campaigns either, but I'm happy that Haley's making a video for a new original. I'm thinking this is a side project, & there are bigger reveals coming this year, which don't involve Indiegogo.

OK OK so now that the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled we can get back to our objective and that is to support Haley not to focus on the why and the when. All things happen in due time isn't the waiting game fun

The why and when fills a gap created by the lack of news. The alternative is crickets. I've enjoyed the conversation and went over to IDF tonight and enjoyed catching up.

I'm thinking this is an opportunity to collaborate on something exciting and dare I say 'bold'(?), a sort of 'batchelorette party' before she makes the move to new management and direction in earnest. They are considering using cirque d soleil type artists, right? and the Director is 'imagery driven'

Lucent Dossier Experience (whose name loosely translates to "a collection of glowing light") is a Los Angeles cirque style interactive, avant-garde circus, electronic rock band, performance troupe and entertainment company performing world wide. The company's performances combine live original music and vocals with circus arts, dance, aerial arts and fire performance.



The troupe has been described as a "high-concept, steampunk-meets-neotribal performance ensemble" and its immersive spectacles as a "post-apocalyptic," "exotic wonderland".

...Performers in Lucent's theatrical spectacles include singers, musicians, acrobats, aerial artists, stilt walkers, fire dancers, tribal belly dancers, a wide variety of other dancers (hip hop, burlesque, and Tahitian), spoken word poets, clowns, contortionists, elves, a bearded lady, a snake charmer/dancer, jugglers, and a sword swallower.

We're so excited to be working with Director Scott Rhea on our new video. He's famous for his mesmerizing underwater photography/videos.
