RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project

Good point about promos and highlight reels. Dancers might also like it. So possibly a double whammy. If the upcoming video incorporates both cool athletic highlights and dancing it might become somewhat viral.
edit: As you pointed out in another post, it has the potential to be sampled. It might also find life in nightclubs?
So potentially a triple or quadruple whammy.
I dug out my good headphones and the song sounds richer still. I also bumped the computer sound settings up to "studio quality" from "DVD." That seemed to add just a hair bit more fullness. I've had it on repeat for nearly an hour.

That's very nice. I was just thinking it would have been neat if Haley had released the video on Independence Day.

I could also see this song being used in the soundtrack of a videogame.
"Show me your moves" is also a phrase used in videogaming. It is or was the Captain Falcon's catch phrase but seems to now have a more general use as a challenge, both in video games and otherwise.
Urban dictionary:
Quote:show me your moves
1. Captain Falcon's signature catch phrase, daring an opponent to fight him.
2. The use of definition 1 by any other person as a dare.
1. Show me your moves!
2. Come on, man! Show me your moves! I may be a level 120, but you level 80 CAN beat me...
I notice a lot of YT comments on classic rock songs reference games (e.g. GTA, COD, etc) as the place where the person commenting was introduced to the song.

RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project
Well, I was away for a few days and finally got home to download SMYM. On first listen, not so sure about it, but as I listened to it again and again, it really started to move me. It is as someone said, a real “earworm”. The song is classic Haley, in that she sounds both modern and retro. Anyway, it grew on me quickly--- it is a very fun, catchy song and could be a hit, if it is given the chance. And of course, I can’t wait to see this video…
But will it become a hit? As discussed—what happens on July 30 when it comes out “officially”? The video will be on VEVO I guess, on her channel. And the song will be on iTunes. But because she is not on a label, it appears that there be will no push to radio stations or media outlets. Hopefully social media will pick up on the song and the video will go viral, and hopefully Ole can push it through their channels. And, she is such buddies with Mark Ballas now that maybe the song will be used on Dancing With The Stars. Maybe even Haley can perform it on the show, as it is really a perfect fit. (Lots of hopefullys and maybes… )
My hope is that SMYM stirs up enough attention and interest that she gets signed to a label so we can get her next CD, featuring SMYM, “Better”, “My Cake” and whatever else she is cooking up with all her new friends. I think “Black Velvet” is recorded too….right?
But at the end of the day, I am just THRILLED to hear a new “official” song from Haley—over two years we have waited! Hopefully it is the start of big things and more adventures for Haley and her fans…
