Which is weird because minutes before, I posed a question to Rachel in a DM.... Are we an unusual fan base??

and just like that, I get an answer from a very very positive and talented person I met at a shoot, then later at a Haley show....

I mean, I figured that we do what "most" fan bases do... I don't know, Haley's the first person I'd ever been this invested to support before so I have no gauge....

On a related note, the Gaga Daily fansite posed the question:

Madonna fans and Beliebers are tied for first place. In their comment someone added "I would say to add Haliens (Haley Reinhart fans) but she's too inconsistent and inactive as an artist to really have a large fanbase that gets openly passionate on pop star forums. We're probably the best fanbase ever tbh"

The Recording-sound on these are the most to my taste of any you have done yet !... the sound just sounds "wider" ... maybe less loudness constraints so common today. Maybe it was less crowd noise that you felt inclined to filter out that changed the music... maybe it was just the accoustics of the room but if there is anything different you did don't change it ! ... don't mess with this sound to "improve" it I hope.

On top of that great recording, this show is the best I've seen from Haley from well over a year... really almost 2 years since that stageit show with Knotto.

Somehow I feel her heart went somewhere different from the place I loved her for... for too long a time..
... there were only a couple exceptions for me over the past year where I felt she really had all the burdens of the world lifted from her

.... maybe the red carpet moanin pre-idol show...etc

One or two scat solos'. There were a few 'almosts" for me over the last year and a half but still since being cut from interscope she's never seemed to really buy her optomistic front in my opinion and too often slipped into a wistful emotional foundation (i.e. can't find my way home song sentiment)

I saw a little breakthrough in the last sidewalk performances at the room 5
but this show for me on August 3rd finally had the "who gives a f about any obstacles or bad things I call out..screw those things.. lifes' too short, I love what the world has to offer" attitude I fell in love with her for.

I was really on the verge of questioning how much of a Haley fan I was... but this show is totally renewing...
.... I'm not really jumping up and down out of my seat here... I still think she's gotten a bit rusty from less regular performing.. bit sloppy for her own standards...she's got a tad more...and that tad is what distinguishes very good from amazing.

But I feel like she's really feeling sexy and life relishing.. not playing the part based on memory here... and without attitude the music has nothing for me.

I love how she works with Ballas and I think the percussionist really helps her out .... the way they play off the beat in such a patient way really favors where I think Haley's really flys...

Anyway.. great recordings and glad you were there to bring us yet another show.. you're a true fan !

That this seemed like an invigorated Haley performance was an observation made by a few of us lucky to be there that night. There was definitely an energy and I think the musicians she performed with had something to do with that. Most of the performances I've seen have been with one, maybe two musicians... The "fullness of sound" is due in part to singing with percussion, which she rarely does, bass and two guitars. Plus Ballas brought his own energy and charisma as well as Chambers doing a very good job on his guitar (I came in not expecting much from the two, judging from the Room 5 videos, but came away very impressed with their skills as musicians)

Big thanks for sharing that one in its original form for me (and the show me your moves too)

I absolutely understand your dilemma as most ears would be so put off by the "white noise" static included in the percussionists beats and (in SMYM) the feedback on the bass notes...

.. yet there's a wrinkle because, for me, I was like "that was ok" when I heard the "cleaned up" Helter Skelter... I didn't really like it to be honest.

I'm like "where's that coming from" and "she'd kinda trying too hard there" and "I guess her growl isn't as special as I remember it".... that's what I heard the first times on HS ...

Then I hear the "dirty noise" version and my foot is stomping and my head is bobbing and I'm making stank faces in the same spots I was more yawning.

I was going to try to pick out parts and point out a low resonance in Haley's voice she uses in the same tone range as the feedback, and point out where her growls and inflections made so much more sense to me springing off some of tones of the guitars "digging in" and I typed them out but really I'd be talking to myself(writing them was fun thinking about the details though)

... and l again you're right with your "going to the mountain quote"

... even a studio recording , made with all it's sound baffles and amp placemet......
never equals being at a live show because even a studio version can't capture the physical feel of some of the bass and drum tones vibrating your body (not only your eardrums) a LIVE bass not (and that isn't only for rock concerts - think of the huge pipe organs if you've ever hear them in a cathedral too for another vivid example

... so I'm missing out by not allocating family resources to the trip... teenagers are darn expensive and there is always something i can do for them instead of myself...

You editing is probably best for the maximum audience and that's >>>>>your role as "Mr Tusk.. promoter" <<<<<<<(haha you deserve a bigger title than "mr"). The feedback in the messier version is distracting for me too but worth dealing with ... to hear what else I missed halfway behind it.. what i missed, not overall necessarily !
