your details and descriptions make for lots of good stuff beyond just a synopsis...
I especially liked this line
Quote:Then I noticed out of the corner of my eye, "Is that Irvin?" I expected him to be taller, but he was shorter than me, so I wasn't sure. I decided, yes, it must be Irvin,
As a fellow short guy (5'7" inches) with a son who looks like he'll top out at 5'5" I earlier stressed how your stature in a crowd or peoples minds comes from how you bear yourself, not your vertical measurements.
Still.. I'll fall guilty of guessing successful people will be taller than they are despite all the evidence I have of there being non correlation between career-success/excellence/corporate-leadership having any corelation to height. (you tall guys might joke that i 've got a short-guy complex....maybe I bear myself bigger because of it? )
Tom...using the special Halien side mirror...Objects may appear taller than they actually are. In fact, the Queen Bee herself appears much taller through the looking glass and everyone is beautiful and brilliant...welcome to our Halien World.

RE: Haley and NOJO perform Led Zeppelin, Queen & Nirvana Nov. 13, 2014
Just got back scouting out the HOB and planning our strategies with Babbs and her Son, Pat. I headed out looking to get a late lunch since I awoke later after a late night, and happened to bump into Babbs on Bourbon St. Also, ran into my new friends from California on our way to Babbs' hotel room...
(When does it stop being a coincidence during these Haley trips? Very weird)
We had lunch and saw a few sights. Needless to say, it got late fast, so not wanting anything to chance, I'm going to prepare to get there earlier than necessary, meaning I won't be able to post last night's Playhouse vids 'til tomorrow, after the show
I had a quick listen, the audio and video weren't 'great', they turned the lights way down low for Irvin's set, and I was sitting next to the bar, so I haven't been able to take a look at how they really came out. If they're 'ok' I'll post them, maybe tomorrow.
Unlike yesterday morning, the House of Blues was open, so we got to look around and ask the staff if they could provide any info we should be aware of. The venue is MUCH smaller than I imagined, they say 495 people on the floor, which was hard for me to believe, it will be tight.
Even though we had a seat attached to our balcony purchase, apparently it's 1st come 1st served, so it's imperative that we get in line early to get as good a seat as we are able. There are assigned seats in the balcony, but those are reserved for the VIP and Foundation Room members.
Time to get ready...

Wow-I have so enjoyed reading about this Haley trip--and more info to come. I know if I was there I would be having the time of my life! So glad all of you in NOLA are having this wonderful musical adventure. I have never been to NOLA and did think about going. But, of course, I didn't know if I could get away for sure. Damn
