Haley touring with PMJ -- Feb 2015 - March 2016 (& March 2017)

By the comments on Twitter and Instagram, there are fan groups lobbying for their favorites to be at the #PMJ stop in their city, there's no guarantee Haley'd even be in any of the stops ( the one's near LA/Chicago most likely )

Since I'll be seeing #PMJ in London, I'm not completely sure if I'd see them in Seattle (Maybe if Haley is coming ), so I'm hoping that by that time, Haley's preparing a small tour of her own to support her EP

Carnegie Hall, Chicago Theater, NOLA and now the O2 are shows Haley sang/will sing only 2 or 3 songs. Those shows have "signicance" to them, made them special beyond just her performances (at least to me). Given my druthers, I'd much prefer to attend a show that Haley's headlining, or at least able to do a set of songs, more than a couple songs

I agree, Tusk. For me, both Haley and Casey would both have to be performing and I'd want to be very clear about the rest of the show. If Von Smith is a part of it, I definitely won't waste time, money, etc.

BTW, I was looking at various Casey sites this afternoon, and unless his schedule isn't up to date, it looks like he'll be coming home after the PMJ show in Paris. If that's the case, it would seem unlikely that Haley and Casey will take over the AATB part of the show. (However, at least Caley will be able to say "we'll always have Paris." )

After seeing the North American tour schedule, I'm slightly surprised to see that the Seattle show will precede the Vancouver show, and then they head south again. I suppose that it's because they are coming from Colorado and adding those extra 150 miles (another 3 hours) just makes a performance at the end of 2 days traveling that much more grueling. Of course, it could be the availability of a venue in Vancouver a day earlier. Assuming they will be traveling by bus again once they get back to the States, that tour is going to be tough, especially once its west of the Mississippi. I don't envy those performers any.

And, Kevin, the group performing in the States may be a very different group than the European tour.

agree Tusk and Ego I will travel regionally (Silver Springs or Philly) to see PMJ with Haley and/or Casey. The PMJ vibe has struck a chord with me and I would go into P'burgh to see the show without Caley. I like PMJ's music and I was hoping that they would be somewhere in the area (P'burgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Morgantown).

Thanks for posting these videos from the PMJ tour John. They are the best I've seen so far.

What a surprise to see Scott's announcement yesterday of the tour extending through North America! And so soon after Europe. He sure knows how to take advantage of a good thing. He puts up a video every Tuesday. Gets tons of YT views, has almost a million YT subscribers... then goes right to touring to catch all his fans.
And I have to admit I've become one of them. There is always something new to check out on the PMJ channel. I'm intrigued by them. Sooooo, I'm hoping that Haley will come home and appear with PMJ when they play in Chicago on June 4th. But, either way, I couldn't resist. I'm going to see the show. Already have my ticket.

I have a conflict with June 4th. Unfortunately that is the same night that the Wheeling Park District is having a Heritage Park Grand Opening Black-Tie Gala for Invited Dignitaries of which my wife (& I) are. Her response (with a bit of an evil eye): "I guess you'll have to chose". If that is my non-preferred choice, I should have gotten a two for one rental deal on a Tux and gone to the Auto Show gig afterall.

A year or so ago, I was looking on YouTube for the DuckTales theme tune because reasons. As well as the original, I also happened across a slow jam version that hooked me immediately. This was my first experience of Scott Bradlee and the Postmodern Jukebox.

My musical tastes have never been truly defined – if I find something catchy, I’m into it, regardless of genre. I wouldn’t necessarily seek out jazz/blues/swing/soul songs, but if I hear one that’s an earworm, I’m all over that bad boy.

And that’s what you get with the Postmodern Jukebox – contemporary songs rearranged so that they can be played across piano, bass, drums and horns. I felt I should address the brilliant instrumentation first before I got to the vocals, because when you bring those into the equation… oh my.

That was particularly evident when I saw PMJ at Shepherd’s Bush Empire during the week – the vocalists were absolutely mindblowing. They would consistently get mid-song applause for a long, long held note or a perfectly pitched run because the crowd were just stunned by their ability.

Many of the vocal performers have their own projects – and why wouldn’t they with voices like that? – but one of the most pleasing aspects of the concert was the camaraderie between the ensemble: the lead vocalist from one song would just switch to backing vocals for the next performer and vice versa – no egos, just everyone doing their bit.

The trouble with having so many guest vocalists is when you go on a tour, you can’t take them all with you, so if you were wanting to hear the Yiddish version of Talk Dirty or experience a seven-foot clown singing Royals, you’ll have to stick to YouTube.

That said, there’s so much music, fun and honest-to-goodness entertainment on that stage – including a manic tambourinist and a mesmeric tap dancer – you definitely won’t be left wanting. Alas, their only remaining UK date is on 22nd March at Indigo2 in London, but if you can get there, you really, really should. Failing that, there’s always YouTube – you might want to start with DuckTales.
