Yes. His Ellis Marsalis Quartet plays most Fridays at the Snug Harbor on Frenchman street. Jumping from Miguel's link I looked at bars on Frenchman Street. The Snug Harbor had a thumbnail of Irvin Mayfield for some reason, so I looked at the schedule. Marsalis showed up and I thought Irvin had done an album with him -- which he has. I was just following some connections. So as long as we are talking about long shots for Haley appearing on Frenchman Street -- my vote is for the Snug Harbor.

Was Haley in New Orleans and out-and-about last night?

Yes...Haley's flight from LA landed in Dallas an hour before the rest of the family's flight from Chicago and they all connected on the same flight to New Orleans, then likely painted the town redeye.

I was just there-on Frenchmen St. about a month ago.We had the best time-didn't get to Snug Harbor but we hit a bunch of other clubs just hopping from one to the next.Comparitively speaking its usually a mellower scene than a lot of the French Quarter.But I'd guess that all bets are off for this weekend with the jazz fest in town.

I wasn't aware that the NOJO has a new home (or finally has a home). This is where they are scheduled to perform tonight.

Jazz in New Orleans is getting a new home with the April 2 opening of the Peoples Health New Orleans Jazz Market in the Central City neighborhood.

The main attraction at the 13,000-square-foot venue will be shows by Irvin Mayfield and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, an 18-piece big band, which has played at places like the Contemporary Arts Center. But Mr. Mayfield, 37, a Grammy-winning trumpeter and the band’s artistic director, said the band wanted a place of its own.
