I like her interpretation a lot. To me, she makes the words and the actual situation they describe acutely present and credible.

I had chills at the end as well and I don't normally experience them. I think it was because that part sounded beautiful and was unexpected.

Koffeehouse Music panned to the crowd at that point. In the lower left corner, there's an African American woman standing with her arms crossed. At that point, she shakes her head up and down and seems to say "Nice" or some other acknowledgement to the blonde woman near her.

I am also stoked that there was no mentioning of AI in the announcement.

I was wondering how the introduction would go. I too was pleased there was no mention of American Idol. I think there was a slight murmur in the crowd from people who recognized her name.

She did a great job with it. The NA at sporting events is often something the fans ignore, or wait to see if the singer can pull it off. It can be a dangerous song to sing. Haley got their attention and I love the crowd reactions at "wave" and "free."

If you think about it, Haley was only given a day to practice the song, but she stil crushed it!

To me, I could sense she had a ton of adrenaline and butterflies running through her, yet she was able to channel and control it, putting the energy into her rendition of the song...it also seemed to have a little country twang sprinkled in here and there
