The resolution of your camera is actually pretty sweet in 1080P... as much as I like my camcorder's directional mic, I wish what is described as '1080pHD' video was better. If you don't mind me asking, what model Camcorder did you purchase?

It's a Canon VIXIA HF R500. The model is discontinued. After doing some research, I had decided I would purchase a Canon VIXIA HF R600, currently on sale everywhere for $249.99. It's the only camera I could find at a lower price point that would allow an external mic.

There are few places to make such a purchase locally now. Ultimately, I decided I would go to Nebraska Furniture Mart. They just opened a store in the area that's the "the largest home furnishing store in North America.'

Yes, they sell cameras. They had 31 camcorder models in stock. They had the Canon VIXIA HF R500 on clearance for $189.99. They also had a floor display model boxed up for sale at $170. That's what I purchased as the store had just opened and I figured it couldn't have received too much wear at a furniture store. It looked mint.

I knew from researching the R600 they were very similar. The R500 has many more reviews to go by and they are generally positive.

Alright, I typed that after waking up in a chair at my computer. It's time for me to go to bed.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going to be seeing PMJ at The Crossroads in KC tomorrow night. I'll try to get a few songs recorded, but I make no promises. I am going to try to find a spot on the right side of the stage, just because I want to be on Haley's side of the stage for "Burn".

I introduced two of my friends to PMJ this weekend & they seemed to like them quite a bit. They both wanted to go to the show, but neither were interested in upgrading to the M&G. So I probably won't get to meet Haley, but I'm still excited I'll be seeing her perform live, for the 1st time, tomorrow night.

I really like this video, the resolution is so good, it doesn't seem to be affected at all from the stage lights hitting Haley, the colours are more natural, it has 'charm' I can't explain and the audio is really good. Haley sounds so effortlessly good in this performance

It is a nice sharp picture with good audio. HD holds up well on my 23" monitor. I can see the individual bits of glitter on her eyelids sparkling in the light. And I can easily read the upside down "Sennheiser e845" imprint on the mic. Of course, it's sideways.

The Crossroads isn't exactly a small venue. It's an outdoor venue downtown, behind this pizza bar kind of place called Grinders. (which is really good, btw. I used to go there, for lunch all the time when I worked at the newspaper). Anyway, because it's an outdoor venue, it can feel different depending on how large of a crowd they draw. I think capacity is about 3,000 so when it's packed it feels like a fairly large venue. I've seen shows there w/ a few as 200 tho & it feels completely different. I'll just have to see what happens, there's always a chance I'll luck out.

Also, thanks. If I get anything worth posting, I'll take you up on that. I have absolutely no experience posting videos. I think my friend Rachel has an iphone6, so that'll be what we're using to record.

Wow the audio is really good in this video, Haley's voice, on her part, so clear

except that I miss Morgan's voice in this song, this might be my favorite audio of Haley's voice in this song, you can hear all the textures and tones clearly in her voice, the zoom, close up resolution is above average too...I'm really impressed at your camera's output despite not the best of conditions....

So, they hear Creep and buy tickets assuming Haley is part of the group.

If they assume that Haley's a part of the tour, then they don't really understand PMJ, do they?

Again, I'm not unsympathetic, and perhaps Scott shouldn't be announcing dates that far in advance, but from Scott's perspective, he's probably thinking that this is about "his baby, PMJ," and his audience is clamoring to know when he's coming back. Again, the majority are likely there for the show -- whatever the show may be.

As Haley has become involved with PMJ, through a fortuitous circumstance (Jacob brought Casey who brought Haley), some Haliens on this site seem to have lost sight of a number of things: a.) PMJ existed before Haley, and will likely exist without her, although the plethora of copy cat groups will, undoubtedly, shorten the life of all; b.) although this PMJ springboard is helpful in bringing Haley to the attention of many who have never heard of her, or who lost track of her post Idol, that does not mean that it will automatically make the release of her EP sail to the top of the Billboard chart.

It may help, but it's not a given. Whether or not you realize this, most people want to hear that which is familiar to them. PMJ fans seem to like the basic "small band with a big band approach" twisting a current pop song.

I wasn't in the center of the storm or even close to the storm after "SMYM" was released, and as such, have never quite understood the backlash that Haley experienced. However, I suspect people, whose introduction to Haley has been through PMJ releases, might not react as positively as you may be expecting when her EP comes out. Only time will tell, of course, but those folks may be just as disappointed as you think those purchasing tickets now for a show that doesn't have a "set program" might be.

Granted, those going to concerts will likely have invested more. But I return to my initial argument which is that these people should know that a PMJ show is a rotating cast of characters. I suspect that none of this discussion would have transpired if Haley wasn't a part of the equation.

People often don't understand. They may see Haley and Casey both performing with PMJ and (1) assume they are with the band, and (2) express happiness that they are still a couple (or feel glad that their marriage is working out). Newer fans may or may not know the cast rotates; some might think it has just evolved into what it is now.

I agree that it was fortuitous circumstances that brought Haley and PMJ together, else we'd be waiting for the EP and she'd probably be doing small gigs periodically around LA as before. I'm delighted the way it has been unfolding.

I also agree that her success with PMJ means little with respect to the eventual success of her EP. Singing in front of 20 million people week after week on AI didn't guarantee a successful LP and having a following among PMJ fans doesn't either. Robyn has a number of devoted and vocal fans from the early PMJ days, but not that many have showed up and played her post-postmodern video despite the fact it is free and only a click away.

Haley has been raising her profile a lot though, gaining new fans and reanimating old ones. And to me, by touring she is going to school and developing a more complete repertoire of professional skills. A downside of sudden AI success is that many of the typical developmental experiences that shape a professional singer are bypassed.

To be a satisfying success I think the EP will need at least one song that gets airplay and positve reception. I don't know how her solo work will be received by the typical PMJ fan, in part because it seems the PMJ fan base is dynamic and growing. I'm not sure there is a typical fan. If, say, one were to consider the first 200,000 subscribers as the old guard of PMJ fans, one needs to consider that PMJ has added that many subscribers in the past two months.

Sounds like Wilkie the emcee downplayed his introduction of Haley from when he first met her in Nashville, Not saying "An international superstar that can be heard on radio stations all over the world". Nice audio & video from your location.

30CSq...don't be too close to the speaker bank at the outdoor venue. When concerts are outdoors they have to project the sound far greater than in a small loft-type venue and it becomes "All About The Bass, No Treble" but even the treble will reverberate.
