At my workplace, there are four of us with the same role. We sit in an arrangement similar to this.



I've shared my love for Haley with two of my coworkers once or twice. This afternoon, one of them got my attention and asked, "Who is that singer you like?" I named Haley. Turns out the third coworker had also attended the PMJ show and had been talking about it all day to her. Mostly about Ariana apparently, but Haley's name must have come up. When I named Haley, he declared I had "good taste" and mentioned her cover of "Creep."

It's a Canon VIXIA HF R500. The model is discontinued. After doing some research, I had decided I would purchase a Canon VIXIA HF R600, currently on sale everywhere for $249.99. It's the only camera I could find at a lower price point that would allow an external mic.

There are few places to make such a purchase locally now. Ultimately, I decided I would go to Nebraska Furniture Mart. They just opened a store in the area that's the "the largest home furnishing store in North America.'

Yes, they sell cameras. They had 31 camcorder models in stock. They had the Canon VIXIA HF R500 on clearance for $189.99. They also had a floor display model boxed up for sale at $170. That's what I purchased as the store had just opened and I figured it couldn't have received too much wear at a furniture store. It looked mint.

I knew from researching the R600 they were very similar. The R500 has many more reviews to go by and they are generally positive.

Alright, I typed that after waking up in a chair at my computer. It's time for me to go to bed.

Well, I like a good deal too...so what if it shoots Haley in a horizontal position...she's still the Layer!

Himm, Babbs, Penny et al….I want to get this out now as I won't have a chance later….HAVE A GREAT TIME AT THE VIC TOMORROW NIGHT! I am so sorry I will not be able to make this concert…and am really jealous! Enjoy…I will be thinking of you -- will be humming the tunes to myself (God forbid anyone should actually hear me try to sing!). One of my coworkers is also going…double jealousy! Today during class I played a bunch of Haley/PMJ videos for my students as well as a few Casey videos….will miss the show but hope you all have the best time!
