A big thank you all for making us almost feel like we where there with you. Hope to pay you back some day, or even better to meet you all and experience Haley together.
I have been wondering if anybody had the chance to ask Haley or Scot if "Imagine" has been or will be recorded, it would such a shame if it did not ( of course if you know the answer but have been sworn to secrecy I don't expect you to spill the beans).
Himm's recording of Imagine is what I have been hooked on since he posted the video, it totally shows what a pro Haley has become. She does not just sing the song, but puts herself in a frame of mind and becomes the song, just amazing.

A thousand thx for all these fantastic recaps/pics/videos. What a great weekend! Pat-that is a beautiful bracelet that u gave to Haley! Really cool how u were all front row for this show. Haley's rendition of Imagine is outrageous! How fun that u all got to hang out with Haley and her family as well as Casey, Scott and the others after the show. So happy Pat got to meet all the Chicago Haliens. It's cool to meet up with people and find out that they're everything u imagined and even more. I would love to meet all of u.

I'm glad to know that Haley is going to try and tour because we need her on the east coast. And Casey too of course.
I'm starting to see even more posts on my FB timeline about PMJ. I think Haley and Casey's affiliation with the group has helped them gain exposure. Perfect timing for Haley with her EP coming out!

I wonder if you need 'special permission' to record a cover of a Beatles song? Their songs are so Iconic, I wouldn't be surprised if a conditional approval, blessings from the surviving Beatles or their reps, is needed to record and sell a cover.

When Madonna wanted to use a sample of ABBA's 'disco' song, "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" on her hit single "Hung Up", she had to send a recording of her single to Ulveus and Anderson for approval before she could release it.

Any one of the Beatles' library is a better song than "Gimme Gimme Gimme", not to mention that Imagine might be one of their most well known and beloved songs, so it's possible permission might be required for them too?

by 1971 the Beatles had definitely separated.

Tusk, please don't be embarrassed. Obviously, I wasn't certain, or I wouldn't have prefaced my question with "forgive my ignorance." And I truly, truly doubt that anyone is going to revoke your Beatles fan club card.

I agree -- I think Yoko has had a strong grip on anything connected to/with John since shortly after they met and she most likely has maintained that grip since his death.

That's why I'm so grateful to have been able to record most of the shows I've been to.

While I agree that Google and Wikipedia are incredibly handy, I'm also very aware that Wiki isn't always the most reliable source (for me, a plus or minus of being trained to do research, I suppose. Actually, I had searched before I sent my question out -- I thought I might be missing something.)

I also agree that it's one of the best "popular" songs ever written. That chord progression just draws the listener in and the lyrics take it home. At least, given my music background, that's how it works for me. (As someone who still predominately relates to the instrumental side, I rarely pay attention to lyric content. I do so now more than 20 some years ago, but it's still always secondary.)

Very interesting question re: Haley performing Imagine as opposed to Earth Song. And hard to know, given that Imagine has been performed on AI rather frequently.

If Haley had sung Imagine on AI, the way she did last week.....she might have won the whole thing that day!! I think she would have been unstoppable. Would have been another standing ovation too.

But that's not the way it turned out. And we probably wouldn't be here on this site either.

I think Haley realizes she needs to tour. With all this exposure she is getting right now, she needs to take advantage of it before her fans go away again. The question is, does Ole agree and will they support a tour. Hopefully yes.

When I think of all the logistics it takes to get a tour ready, with buses, musicians, support crew, food, lighting, salaries, advertising, tickets etc, you can see why all these singers have jumped on the PMJ bandwagon. He has a built in audience, and all they have to do is show up. Join the tour when they can for a few weeks here and there. They are all getting great exposure, and get to travel all over the world.
