RE: 2015 PMJ North American Tour

Quote:"Vocalist and American Idol finalist, Haley Reinhart gave me the f***ing chills. I was standing next to one of my most respected music critics, who’s 13 years my senior and a bartender at my favorite venue in the world (The Social). He had his hand over his heart. His eyes were watering. He leans over after clapping and says “that was the best cover of a Radiohead song I’ve ever heard.” And, Radiohead is one of his favorite bands of all time. Check out still spine chilling, hair raising, version of “Creep” by Haley & Postmodern Jukebox.
Sometimes people say things to you that come straight from the heart. I believe when someone’s heart speaks to you, you should listen, with wide-open ears. The entire band showed up at our ticket giveaway sponsor’s bar after the show, Barley & Vine Biergarten Orlando. After a few beers, and a large round of Sake Shots, I found myself laughing and sharing a green bowl in my car with master-basser, Casey Abrams (aka Casey Bassy). Casey was on American Idol, season 10, finishing in 6th place, and above all, he is a truly amazing soul. While in our element (in my Honda Element) we talked about how he got to where he is now and the changes he made to get there. “I was going to college for upright bass. I wasn’t happy. I didn’t want to be there. I said to myself,
‘I want to do what famous people do.’ From that point forward, everything changed.”
I feel when you listen to your heart and make a decision to change your life, you will get there. No. Matter. What. Casey is living his dream. He’s a 24-year old inspiration to me, everyone who was in my car that night, and hopefully every single person who reads these words. Go, change your life. Take the risk on something you want and love. If you fail or fall, get back up and don’t you give up until you make it."

RE: 2015 PMJ North American Tour
I just checked tickets for September 3rd PMJ Sydney, Australia (not that I plan on going). Tickets with VIP & Service Charge is about $180 and after that it's on to Alaska! The Ticket Site has this writeup:
Quote:There is a very good possibility that many of you have seen or heard of the terrific musical collective known as Postmodern Jukebox on one or more of your preferred social media platforms.
These clever and talented viral-video/YouTube sensations have likely shown up on yours or a friend's Facebook wall - no doubt ecstatically captioned with glowing praises for their uncanny ability to take a contemporary pop hit and reincarnate it into a superb, vintage-flavored songbook standard from the last century.
The brainchild of arranger/pianist/musical genius Scott Bradlee, Postmodern Jukebox’s primary raison d'être has been to repurpose today's radio staples (think Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Lorde, Nikki Minaj, etc.) and infuse them with the sounds that are more likely to be found in your grandfather's old vinyl record collection: old-school jazz and ragtime standards from the 20's, 30's and 40's, croony doo-wop tunes from the 50's, 60's rock and R&B anthems, or perhaps even sultry 70's soul jams.
Just like with their popular videos, each song in PMJ's live concert bridges the gap between generations, providing fresh, yet familiar-sounding tunes that can be enjoyed by all ages.
Imagine a Beyoncé or Britney Spears song reworked as if they were earmarked for Louis Armstrong, Scott Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, or Nina Simone - and accompanied by a rousing mini-big band that sounds like a cheekier Benny Goodman Orchestra on Red Bull. The results? Refreshingly educational, absolutely irresistible, and, most important of all, genuinely entertaining.
