Amy Winehouse Found Dead in London Home, Police Say

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: 'Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.

...'On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.

'Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.’

Haley mentioned Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae, Esperanza Spalding, Duffy and Janelle Monáe as inspirations during an interview with MTV News. "I'm really, really lucky to have some strong women that have powerful voices that are coming back into the scene. That's very inspiring, because that's what I've wanted to do for a while."

This thread was started four days after HaleyFans began.

Tonight, four years (and one day) later, I saw the documentary "Amy."

I didn't really know anything about her before. Watching the film, what really struck me is how many of the lyrics to her songs are autobiographical.

The way the documentary is structured, it has friends and associates relating things off-screen while footage from that time is shown. Then Amy's songs are played with on-screen lyrics to illustrate how her life was reflected in her music.

It's very well done. There were several moments when I would think, "that's a great shot/scene." Then I would remember it's actual footage and not a cinematic recreation.
