Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP!

Right. This commercial could get Haley some spots on major tv shows (Ellen already retweeted it...) if it gets really popular, it could get her music on the radio. It could make her in demand with the media. That's when you want to have music available.

I don't know. I think Ole should add it to the "Better" EP. They could promote it with:

"New Music from Haley Reinhart on EP "Better" featuring her new single "Good Or Bad" and "I Can't Help Falling In Love".

She was still top trend on iTunes this morning. Wow! This song may have legs as a wedding song and maybe this is the "break" we have been hoping for with Haley. Who knows, but an appearance on "Ellen" or a late night show would be a big boost and a great launching pad for her new EP. Wow! Can you believe it? I never thought commercials on YT and Facebook could go viral like this....

Finally, I am glad that "Good Or Bad" is the single as I think it is a stronger song than "Better", and who knows what could happen with it. I still think a sleeper could be "Love Is Worth Fighting For" as that song has so many cool feels and emotions and Haley delivers a powerhouse performance, at least live.

The search trends show up for me if I go to do a search at the iTunes store. A drop down appears if I hover over the search box before entering anything. Haley isn't showing up anymore.

So, it appears (to me at least) that the release date of the "Better" EP was impacted by this Extra Gum commercial and Ole probably felt it best to wait until the commercial came out, with its millions of expected eyeballs on it to drive some media attention to Haley.

But now that the commercial is out, and Haley's name is back in the media (thanks Billboard Magazine, and others), I think Ole should work on getting Haley's EP out as soon as possible. Strike while the iron is hot, or at least warm. And, I think Ole should consider adding the CHFIL song to the EP, if possible.

Adele's new album will be released on November 20. Will this affect the release of the EP? I would think if they can not release it in the next 2 weeks, they would have to wait until after 1 January.

@Tusk I agree with your thoughts RE your general hopes/expectations of pop hits with radio play etc.

@John I watched that video you linked a page ago and it was very interesting. There were parts of it that came across as cheap manipulation yet other parts about the value people want from music .... the "you" vs me thing made some sense to the extent the (my opinion) whole purpose of music is to uplift and inspire -- if certain words and context accomplish that better.. well I guess i'm ok with that. (heart-rate was interesting too... I see nothing wrong with Dance music being made that's easier to dance to by mathcing heartrate)

Associated with those two thoughts, I've got my own that I've held

So many visual artists feel like they've "sold out" by doing artwork/branding for consumer products. But like Andy Warhol's cambells soup can "mash-ups" alluded to,
some things are all around us.

If Haley's art is well suited for advertising, or shopping malls etc, making that sort of music is a darn important contribution to the world if it uplifts spirits and attitudes even if it isn't purchased or if her name isn't recognized.

I do wish Haley financial success so that she can take care of a family, help others finacially as she sees fit, send a couple gernations of a future family to college etc. There are some good things that come from wealth, and she deserves it. The F is for family probably has a better chance of a financial windfall if it becomes popular enough to last a number of years than an album that goes gold.

I have no doubt that Haley will keep singing and writing songs even if the voice over work is what brings her financial success or something.

If that music is for bank commercials with dogs rolling over it's still reaching and uplifting people regardless of the reason it's reaching people.

So, as much as the individual recognition she's gotten with the PMJ videos, I find lots of the Ole placements equal signs of success even if the general populace never might know her name.

I've been lurking following Haleys career and learning of the music business in the process... and the recent developments and twists and turns are fascinating along with the good music that comes along too. : )

No. She's not going to be in the ball park of Adele's numbers. It shouldn't matter at all.

A new single, “Better," comes out this fall, followed by an EP of the same name in January.

The six tracks on the EP, released by Ole, were written over three years, mostly with Swedish songwriter Anders Grahn. They express how much Reinhart feels she's grown and blossomed in that time. The recording mixes demos with a live band, including her dad on guitar. It's got soul, rock, and pop. “In general I'm trying to put a smolder on things and make people feel a certain way," she says, be it peppy or funky or sexy.

“I'm really excited about it," says Reinhart. “I've got a heck of a lot of tunes that I've been itching to put out for people. It's nice to finally get the next project out there."
