I just have to try and keep in mind all of the positives she has now that weren't there a year ago-the financial gain,all the exposure with PMJ and the response that she's received and also this commercial.Plus she always manages to surprise everyone.And also what do I really know about what might be going on behind the scenes.But it is fun to get people's perspectives on a forum like this.

For the most part this discussion has been driven by the fact that Haley has so many positive things going on in her career that many feel she needs help with that. Yipee, it's a good problem to have.

Respectfully discussing public aspects of a public figure's career doesn't make me feel bad or ackward. This is a forum, and it has been nice to see some discussion and the putting forth of personal opinions and ideas.

How in the world did Haley even land at this Philly gig? HA! That is my biggest question about her appearance. I live in the Philly area and this event got allot of local attention as Philly is very proud of it's musical community. It seems like everyone else there had a strong Philly connection, so her invitation is certainly an interesting puzzle.

I think attending this event with her Mom for the privldge of honoring Billie Holiday with little self or career promotion is the perfect approach. It would be excellent if the experience led to a future opportunity, but my impression is that it was secondary.

I agree with the sentiment that Haley would benefit from professional career management and guidance (assuming she doesn't already have it). For this event, however, I think low key was the best key.

I also love the respectful and entertaining debates on this site... so thanks everyone!!

Good question. Her performance of "God Bless The Child" with Irvin Mayfield only turns up in the early results on YouTube if you sort by number of views or ranking. Jacob Lusk ranks much higher on the former and is right with her on the latter.

I did find that, in 2008, Irvin Mayfield threw a party celebrating "his 31st birthday with a free show by The Roots, Kermit Ruffins, Rebirth Brass Band, Amanda Shaw and more."

Haley has my camera with her in California! How's that for an unexpected turn of events! Patti says Haley's camera died at the Liberty Bell and Patti let her use mine and take it back with her at the airport. Ill get it back from Haley soon and I'm hoping there will be more behind the scene photos than I ever dreamed of. Patti said she recorded lots of shots on it in Philly, So maybe Haley will upload some of it from my memory card herself!

Well I hope you get your camera back soon. Not just because of the pics or videos we all want to see.

Loovvee this picture of Haley! She sure likes her glitter eye shadow and it always looks perfect on her! From the pictures Ive seen from the Philly gala, Haley really stands out among the other performers on stage. (Even though most of them were guys.) hehe I wish we could see a video of her singing...

I'm pretty sure there is a good video of Haley singing GBTC in Philly but it's trapped until Nov. 18th when I get the camera back after it's 10,000 mile journey with Patti & then Haley on the PMJ tour. I sure hope there is enough battery power for Haley to shoot some extra goodies while on the first part of the tour that I offered to let her keep it thru since her camera died and I can burn a DVD of whatever is on it for her.
