RE: 2015 PMJ North American Tour
The Halien w/ the Beatles memorabilia was probably @rmd81064
Well, this is rmd81064 (Ray) and that is me in the picture with Haley. Kevin provided a great recap, so I will not cover all that again. I agree that the Meet and Greet was awkward, as you did not really get to talk to anyone. They all came out in a line, told a funny story, you get a picture with them, then they tell you to go pick up your signed poster. I thought it would be more like a 1/2 hour cocktail hour where you could go up and talk to folks. But, I had my gift for Haley (the vintage Beatles tray made in UK in the 1960s) and would not be denied, so I said "Haley--I got something for you…." and gave it to her. She remembered it from the video and was very happy to get it.
Most everyone on here has seen or even met Haley. I had seen her (Idol concert and Hard Rock in DC) but never talked to her. To see her up close, she is really quite stunning. Such a petite girl with this beautiful luminous face and hair. Like some kind of 1930s Hollywood movie star--just striking. And she is so sweet-- and I know people have said this, but she seems so attentive and appreciative when you talk with her.
Anyway, I did give her the tray and later, after the show, she was out again in the lobby talking to her fans. I said hello again and asked her to autograph a cup from the venue, the Carnegie Library in Homestead. I congratulated her on all her recent success, and getting the web site up, and CHFIL. This was her next to last show for awhile, after the Chicago show tonite. She did indicate that perhaps she will not be doing all the PMJ shows on the West Coast.
Other notes from the show. As Kevin noted, Scott was not there and I guess that happens from time to time? His musical director Todd filled in and was good, but I know Scott has a lot more fun with the crowd. Joey Cook was not there, sick in the bus, parked outside. As noted, Casey and Ariana were big hits as was Sarah, the tap dancer. Speaking of Casey, I talked with him quite a bit, got an autographed CD, and a high five by him when I was talking to Haley. He is a sweet guy with a great personality.
So, as far as Haley goes, well she knocked it out of the park again. As Kevin noted, the crowd went crazy when she was announced. I was in Row C to the left, so close to the stage. I tried to take video but security shut me down. Oh well. Would rather concentrate on seeing Haley live.
And, just to say, "As Time Goes By" by Haley was an unexpected treat. I knew she sang it, but to hear her sing it live, it was so moving and elegant and beautiful. I have to say, it might be my favorite song from her last night, just because I had not expected it to impact me so much. If somebody wants to use another song in a commercial, they should have Haley record that one. I do hope she puts that on a PMJ CD in the future.
Sorry for the rambling. I am still on Cloud 9 a bit. Oh what a night!
