I love Shirley Bassey (especially this- Good God!) and she may have had a hit with Big Spender, but for my money, it was Edie Adams and Muriel Cigars that really made this number famous. You can trust me on this, Hell I Was There:

Hey guys! Enjoy my gutsy cover of "Big Spender" as made famous by Shirley Bassey. This was me yesterday night in the Miss Coral Shores pageant for my school. I unexpectedly took first place, and my best friend won first runner up, her score being only ONE-HALF POINT below mine! In my eyes, we both won. :3 It was such a great experience!
Yup, she has a lot of original songs on her site, seems to have an unhappy background.
