YT update

There has been a surge in AATB views recently for some reason. Over the past five weeks it has been averaging well over 38K views per day (around 6K per day more than Creep). It has a ways to go to capture the #4 spot (about 55-56 days at current rates) but it has gained around 30K per day on Royals in recent weeks.

AABT was put up one year ago this Thursday. Over the past 364 days it has averaged around 36,750 views per day. It is amazing that in recent weeks, almost a year out from its upload, that this number has actually been rising

It's popped up a lot on FB this week with comments that say, in effect, "I may have posted this before, but it's so good..."

PMJ touring abroad might also be prompting some investigation.

Haley's increased exposure probably helps some too.

The surge was a couple weeks back. Below are average daily view numbers for AATB (Europe) for the last 6 weeks. I missed getting a count on Feb 14 so the surge started sometime during the 2 weeks ending Feb 21. Its view counts topped Creep for that 3-week period but now things are back about where they were before.

Our numbers are a bit different, but your numbers show the Idol bounce. I think my numbers wash out the bounce because I haven't sampled much.

I don't have weekly numbers but late on 02/09/16 my screen capture has the view count at 12,025,533. Right now it's at 13,383,641 for an increase of 1,358,108. I divide that by 35 days for a daily count of 38,803.

On 02/18/2016 (afternoon -- before Idol aired with Haley) the view count was 12,351,011. So in those 8.5+ days prior to the Idol airing it was getting about 38,291 a day. In the past 26.5 days or so it has received 1,032,630 views or close to 39,000 per day.

It looks like Royals is going to take a bit longer to catch than I initially thought.

Interesting thought about the Idol bounce. I charted numbers I have for Haley's PMJ videos for the last few months, taken every Sunday ~ 7 pm PST. It shows a slight after Idol bounce but AATB seems to have had something else going on. Too back I missed Feb 14 as it would have shown better the effect of the Feb 18 Idol appearance.

Nice graph of the various Haley PMJ videos. Yeah, AABT had something else adding juice to its view rate, but right around the Idol appearance.

Speaking of AABT, Morgan's FB post of the song now has 56 million views. It has been shared 1.1 million times -- 30 times in the past hour. Kai Kamai's posting of the song has 33.5 million views.

A little more about Haley's PMJ songs

SNA and Oops! have moved up a couple spots recently and it won't be long before she has five of the top 20 spots on the PMJ ranking. Of all the other songs in the top 20 only one has been released in the past 16 months (Bad Romance).

In addition to these, Lovefool comes in at #31 and should makes it way up a few spots pretty quickly.

On the Creep comments today someone pointed out that Haley's PMJ videos now have more than 52 million views (which sounds about right).

AATB (European Tour) has again gone over the 30,000 views per day mark over the past week, just below Creep's numbers. I think I figured out where the bump over the past month has come from, it's from people searching for Postmodern Jukebox (or PMJ) European Tour on search engines.
