Haley's Idoloonies Journey

Hello, I'm a new user trying to support Haley as much as I can!
As a celebration for the Better album release, I made a video of Haley's Journey through the the brilliant recaps of Michael Slezak, TVLine's senior editor, a recap show I couldn't watch Idol without.
I'd love for you guys to pass it around, I worked kinda hard on it and I know not many fans have seen all the footage, I dug deep to find all these clips, I hope you enjoy!

Hi Garden, good job, it was very entertaining for me to see Slezak in the early weeks of Season 10, he, like me was not a Haley fan from the start. I have never seen this commentary before, thank you so much. And I have enjoyed watching Haley's Idol journey 1 -3 done by Tusk, I think I have watched that series 5 or 6 times. Yours is equally as good. I did notice in your Part 2 that there are some long black screen times with audio. You might want to look at 12:20, 33:00, 42:22 & 58:43, it may just be my PC, but I don't think so.

Someday soon I think we will look back at the Idol stage as a small stepping stone to Haley finding the success she deserves. Thanks again.

You're right! I saw that when I watched it back, thanks for pointing that out! I'll try to render these parts again and upload the whole part if they don't turn black. I'll keep you guys updated

Great job with Part 1 - very interesting compilation (will listen to Part 2 when I have more time). I only saw the final Slezak interviews so watching the progression of his reaction (and his guests) to Haley and her performances is really fun to watch. For me it also makes her underdog story even more compelling.

Oh lol my hackles still go up to hear some of ths crap talk about Haley though, lol!! I know Slezak ended up being one of her biggest fans, and TBH I felt the same thing about God Bless the Child before I ended up falling in love with HALEY a few weeks later. But still I found myself saying OK shut up about her now Michael!!

Ahh, garden, I had just finished Part 1, so I'm looking forward to seeing Part 2. Great job on the first part!

One of the things that I am reminded of though, is that although I love Michael Slezak's wit, reviews, and his Idolatry/Idoloonies/Reality Check shows, is that I feel that he's not taking responsibility for some of the stuff that he says.

In his wrap up of the final four of Season 10, he urges that Haley step up to the plate and pick good songs (even though she had a choice on only one), but to me, it was Slezak who picked up on Jimmy Iovine's comment on "work ethic" and slanted it the way he did, then proceeded to remind his watchers every single week that the comment had been made. Had Mr. Slezak not done that, the comment would likely have been quickly forgotten.

But, as we know, Ms. Haley is an extraordinary fighter.

I think Michael Slezak had a lot of footage with Haley to go through and trim down to that final interview. I wish we had access to the entire thing, unedited.

As far as him bringing up the work ethic thing a few times - I totally noticed that at the time, and he used it to show that Haley was ingrained from day one, "You will NOT win this thing." Haley being the scrapper she is, was like, "Well, I will go down fighting for it."

I loved seeing the other former contestants talking about her too, they show much respect.
