Tickets are pretty pricey. Better to wait until you get a Haley-centric show to pay that much.

...So I was talking to my brother today, and of course Haley came up in the conversation, about Haley performing at Lollapalooza.

I told him I saw an article today that said Haley was the first Idol to perform in the festival.

Haley Reinhart will become the first American Idol act to play Lollapalooza when the festival returns to Chicago's Grant Park Aug. 3-5.

He said, that's where the original Black Sabbath's only performance in North America will be in this show. (They were going to tour, but apparently, guitarist and metal diety, Tony Iommi is recovering from cancer and will only play at this event in North America!!)...so it will be actually pretty unique. I've never seen Black Sabbath before, and they are really the "Big Bang" in the creation of Heavy Metal, the Prime Mover to the movement. This might be the last chance to see this Iconic band together. So now I'm thinking maybe I should go to all three days.

According to an Associated Press article featured in the NY Daily News, the organizer behind the annual music festival’s artist lineup is the Lollapalooza founder himself, Perry Farrell, also the lead singer of Jane’s Addiction. Farrell is quoted as saying, “Every year it’s kind of a nail biter putting a lineup together. There were moments when I looked at it and I was beside myself. I didn’t know what to do.” Reportedly, Farrell claims that he sees himself “purely as a music selector” for the show. On the challenges of putting together the perfect lineup he stated, “You are trying to balance a lot of things. Balance economics, there’s a budget how much we can afford for talent. You’re trying to balance that with who’s available.”

So I'm wondering, how is Haley getting in this line up and hasn't even put out album one, yet???

It is pretty amazing Tusk. Some might say she is a good Chicago draw, but Lee Dewyze & Jennifer Hudson are also from Chicago and have not been invited.

We like to think the organizers know talent when they see it...we like to think we know talent when we see and hear it. Conclusion...Haley has the talent! She is a phenomenal live performer!

I saw Black Sabbath on 03/12/1971 at the Easttown Theater in Detroit. Black Sabbath was at the top of the bill but I actually went to the concert to see Fleetwood Mac, who were playing second. The opening act was Sir Lord Baltimore (ain't the internet great).

This was pre-Nicks and Buckingham Fleetwood Mac and unfortunately the band was really drunk. I'm still pissed that a couple of minutes into Station Man the band abruptly stopped to slug down cans of beer and screw around.

In eleven seasons of American Idol, the shows alumni have done some amazing things, from winning Oscars, to starring on Broadway, to launching global tours, to releasing multi-platinum discs. But now, one alum is going to do something no previous Idol has done: perform at Lollapalooza.

USA Today reports that Haley Reinhart, who came in third last season on the show, will perform during the star-studded festival when it returns to Grant Park in her hometown of Chicago this August 3-5. Among the other acts on the bill: the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, Florence + the Machine and dozens of major alternative rock acts.

Haley releases her debut album, Listen Up!, on May 22.
