Is Haley using this as an encore song?

No - it's about mid way through the concert, it starts with Jacob doing an MJ song while Haley leaves for a few minutes, then merges into this. My opinion: they do the R & B "ish" songs at the beginning, do MJ medly, then merge into the rockier arrangements. The encore songs for Denver were CHFIL and Listen

Like NUG said, it's the 2nd of a short Michael Jackson medley in the middle of the set. It's short, so I figured to keep the medley together in one video....but after listening to it several times, I just felt it deserved it's own video. Here's the medley with Jacob at the beginning.

That's where LA was different, for the encore, in addition to CHFIL & Listen, Haley sang Creep w/ Scott and Casey...and "Never Knew What Love Can Do" with Casey...which I will post...eventually

I still have Wasted Tears, My Cake, Better, I Belong to You, CHFIL and Listen from SD...I may skip LA's CHFIL but will post NKWLCD from LA....then ISCAT/airhigh's vids from Petaluma and SF (and JMT's...tho I can't seem to locate where they are on the his SD card :/ )

Then there's also what I might get from Chicago....though since I've got, IMO, the best set of songs from Haley's tour on video (In respect to good video/audio/ lighting/ performance/crowd size etc) in SD, I'm not as pressed to get 'great' video from Chicago,so we shall see....

I admit, going 0/3 on my Trip to California as far as 'good' video (2 Morgan shows/ 1 Haley show....though I did get Creep and NKWLCD in LA), I was pretty bummed out....I'm really glad I decided to go to the Belly Up in San Diego, 'cause that was a 'home run'...grateful their camera policy was much more relaxed than last time I was there last year for PMJ (Had to coat check my camera)..AND the bonus was most of us had seats at a table, which really helped in the recording of the show...

Thanks NUG & Tusk. I suppose the song's a bit too laid back for an encore. Usually, it's the "blockbuster" songs that end up being the encore tunes. It's just that with Haley coming back on stage, I thought that perhaps it was. And it occurred to me that, from the lyrical message, as an encore it would be a stroke of genius.

Y'all Haley knows how to put on a show. She's just a born performer. Thinking of her on Idol, she was ready for prime time then, and now its on a whole other level. While she was belting "You Belong to Me" to the guitarist last night I distinctly remember thinking "Why the hell isn't this gal a superstar?" I think she will be one day, and I know we'll be proud we were here way back when

The show was awesome obviously. Brought my boyfriend along who is now officially a Halien. He has very particular taste in music, so I'm excited he has latched on to her and supports my Haley habit. He even bought me the tour shirt! We arrived at 3:30 for the meet & greet and let me just say, what an improvement from the disappointment of last year's PMJ meet and greet! For $65 I got a ticket AND to meet Haley and watch her sound check, whereas last year I paid over $50 just for the meet and greet that lasted five minutes. I gotta say I was really pleased with the set up and how we all go to take pictures. I told Haley her album was genius and I was obsessed and she thanked me. I wanted to say more but there wasn't much time.

As for the performance, she just continually blows me away every damn time. There are no bounds to her talent. I felt the show peaked at YBTM, and I really felt the power in that moment. Interestingly, I was thinking about something Slezak said five years ago about how Haley's call and response to the backup singers during "You and I" was a glimpse into what she could be post-Idol, and I felt that last night when she was rocking out. She has really come into her own and I am so proud and admire her so much for her tenacity in an unforgiving industry. She has really arrived.

A brief note on the crowd: I was mouthing the words along from the beginning and got some dirty looks from some people beside me for being so into it. I noticed a lot of the people there weren't very familiar with her new stuff, but when she came back out to sing CHFIL during the encore, everyone got very excited and whipped their phones out to record, making me think that the majority of the crowd was there because of the gum commercial. While that's all fine and well, I'm hoping that those not familiar with her original stuff picked up her album on the way out...
