I wonder how the tour worked out financially for Haley?
I'm guessing that she covered her expenses but by a fairly thin margin
I know there are many other benefits from the tour including personal satisfaction, keeping her "brand" alive, and growing as a performer... and perhaps just plain old "love is worth fighting for" pleasure in the process.
But, still, I'd hope to see her tour again -> and also hope she makes enough money through the year to keep at whats worth fighting for.
For those of you, like myself, also trying to learn a bit about the economics of trying to make it - as part of tracking Haley's career: I did some guesstimates, breaking down the situation into a series of smaller guesstimates with more narrow ranges trying to pin down at least 'order of magnitude"
Primary Revenues and Venues:
Based on some pretty sparse info to go on, I'd guess that Haley would have needed to sell about 300 tickets per gig on average at $20 to stand a chance at covering her venues minimums ... and risk paying them for less and not getting to much more of $21 gate for the next 100 more.... (300 x $20 = $6000 and many of the venues were advertised for a few thousand more than that if you wanted a private party there.. and they'd also make additional money on drinks and food for the private parties on top of the venue rental.. similar to drink sales at her concerts)

From what I could tell from how crowded the rooms were in occasional crowd shots in YouTube videos, the 500 plus capacity venues had a lot of space in them -- hopefully there were some close to sell-outs in some cities to make up for possibly sparser turn out in others. Thats why I'm guessing 300 > I HOPE it wasn't closer to 200
band and travel expenses,My math/guesstimates were cost in those categories of at least
$2500 a show when the entire tour expenses were divided per show.
roughly: I'm thinking each band member received $4000 for the tour...which equates to a $25 an hour 40 hour work week -- if the guys work half the time at that rate they'd barely be able to keep a car running and a bedroom in a decent LA apartment) I figured a modest $120 a night hotel rate having two guys per room, and I figured bus expenses of $250 a show, plain flights bought on Priceline boiling down to about $600 per band member for three legs across the country, and another $50 a day food and sundry expense the tour picked up still expecting the band members to pay for most of their own meals.
Extra Revenues
My guesstimates were that she'd sell:
50 VIP tickets for another 50X40 = $2000 and receive $1500 of that -
maybe she'd get to keep 75% of those ? ... certainly the venue issuing the tickets would take some cut - but perhaps they also had staffing expenses to justify that (I think someone from the bar was doing the meet and greet snapshots in Petaluma) That would give her $1500
75 t-shirt, album items netting her an average of $15 each after cost of goods? (might be a tad generous)
or $1125?
So.. I'd guess she was barely covering venue costs with the base gate and barely covering the band and travel costs with the VIP and T-shirt sales? $2625ish extra - $2500ish tour-overhead
And as I said earlier.. I'm guessing that she sold just enough tickets(including 20 of the 61 cost VIP tickets) to pay for the venues... guessing 300 people average
The good news is that breaking even is a heck of a lot better than losing money ..and maybe I'm wrong .. Of course!(but I tried in good faith)
I hope that it might have been better or that she was satified enough to tour with a full band again in the future.
....perhaps, IF need be, smaller venues that sold out...I suspect us die-hard VIP buyers would still be there in the same numbers to pay for a full band by paying more even if there were a smaller overall crowd
