2014:

You grew up in Indianapolis, but now you’ve made Chicago your home. What drew you to Chicago?

SMY: I just wanted to live in a bigger city and explore. It’s only three hours from Indianapolis and my dad is originally from here, so I felt I had more of a connection to it.

How would you would describe your musical sound?

SMY: I think that I have a kind of jazzy sound, but I didn’t study jazz until I moved here. I grew up listening to Motown, R&B and rock. My sound has an R&B influence and it’s soulful. All of my music is original, and it’s influenced by Stevie Wonder and the Beatles.

I used to love this song, but sung by Frente....also I used to love Burt Bacharach songs, especially sung by Dionne Warwick.

I think Scott captured the Bacharach sound really well and I do like the vocalist's interpretation, but I feel her voice doesn't match the "Bacharach" sound I'm used to. I'm not sure where to put my finger on it.....

I almost think if this were just sung with vocals and the ukelele, it would be more impactful....her style and Scott's styles sounds good, but separately, not together

I like all the parts of this, but for some reason, they don't 'click' together

excited I was. And it turns out to be a total bait and switch. NO Scott

Mr. Bradlee. You've hurt my feelings. Not only have you deeply offended
me, but you have offended me so profoundly that I can't even find the
words to describe how disappointed I am in you. Other people I talked to
that also left early--like me--expressed the same sentiment. Your PMJ
ended up to be just another fraud.
