hey there.

normally don't post much here (though checking the forum verrrryy regularly) - but just wanted to share my thoughts on yesterday's concert in dublin with you guys.

i've been a halien since day 1 (literally since i saw her sing baby it's you/god bless the child) during hollywood week of american idol & have been following her career very closely ever since. she's my favorite artist & having had the chance yesterday to meet her (got meet&greet tickets) was like a dream come true.

of course, i got super nervous when approaching her and could barely say a word. but she was super sweet and luckily you can't tell on the picture we took that i was super nervous haha. she asked me where i was from, so i told her i was from germany but living in dublin. that i saw her in amsterdam last week and am now super excited for the final concert in dublin. hopefully i won't have to wait for too long to see her live again because....

this was literally the best concert of my life. her stage presence & her voice just blew me away. i've been watching pretty much any video that's been posted by tusk - but to actuallyy experience haley live at a concert was just such a surreal and phenomenal experience. she is a true star, a unique talent & a voice of a generation.

having been to amsterdam last week as well, i felt like in terms of vocals this was even better - maybe because it was the last concert, she could really give 120% without having to fear that her voice might be off the day after - and she went for runs & notes that gave me 'the goosies' in pretty much all of her songs.

i briefly chatted to some haliens that travelled from the US as well - im not sure if any of you guys are on this forum as well - but i found it so so cool to see how devoted haley's fans are.

in all, i will never forget yesterday's concert, i cannot wait for her next album & for her to tour in europe again (or else, i'll probably have to come to the US).

Funny story, I too have been a fan since day 1. When I first met Haley at a meet and greet in NY I felt rushed with the pictures line, but I was so nervous and my heart was racing. I've met celebrities before, but I was never this star struck. I planned on talking about stuff and I was too nervous I could barely get a word out. My luck would turn out after I moved to Phoenix and was able to see Haley perform with dave Damiani. She talked with guests after the show and this time around I was more relaxed and enjoyed a 5-10 minute long conversation with her. I'm 24 years old and she's 26 my brothers age- shouldn't be that hard to talk to someone close to your age, however when in a presence like hers it's not easy!

Here's a taste of things to come from my second show at Dublin's Whelan's Bar/wusic venue. Just flew in this morning from an extra day spent in London after seeing Haley's shows in Glasgow & Dublin. I got lots of video & photos & stories once the Jet Lag wears off:

Too bad they wouldn't let me film from the closed off balcony, and wouldn't you know it... the Tallest guy in the whole freakin' place ended up standing right in front of me... so much of what i had to film was off of the lower resolution projected view on the screen above the stage...except for this and the surprise duet where Haley brought sister Angie on stage to sing a duet of the Beatle's "Love You Forever" since five of Angie's Ireland College Buddies were in the audience.

Thanks to Tusk and all the Haliens for all the videos from the EU tour.

In watching her perform, she seems at another level with her stage presence and her connection to the music and the crowd than she was previously. Besides her amazing voice, she is active, moving smoothly on stage, and radiating charisma in her own sexy way.

So, hopefully soon, we will hear news about Concord Records (PLEASE!) and the new CD and some dates/times, and perhaps another tour in US this year.

Regarding meeting in Haley, I met her once in Pittsburgh with PMJ before and after the show. I was nervous, but as others have said, once you say hello, she totally makes you feel at ease and comfortable, giving you her full attention. She also is sweet, nice and funny. And, finally, she truly is a gorgeous girl and really just lights up a room.

My pleasure...so many pleasures...worth the many thousands of travel mile$... And here is "White Rabbit" from the Glasgow Show where I had a different angle to the stage. They Really REALLY Loved her in Glasgow...chanted "HALEY, HALEY, HALEY !!! demanding encores and you could see Haley's body language that she was overcome with emotion at the Lovefest they were showing when she returned to the stage:

Ken saw the show tonight and sent me video

Oh so that's what Ken Smith was doing, uploading his video to you on his laptop while I was trying to fall asleep in the room we shared at the end of an incredibly long day after our two flights with no sleep (3 flights for Ken), a sightseeing tour and sharing the late afterhours with a Glasgow mother & daughter pair of huge Haley Fans we picked up (or they picked us up is more like it), who bought us drinks as we all waited for Haley & the band to return to the tour bus. I loaded Haley's giant wardrobe suitcase onto the bus for her as she hugged me goodbye, then our new best friends we met there insisted on paying for the Taxi we all shared back to the bus depot & our hotel. Wild Night to say the least!!

Nice!!! As I mentioned in my Berlin recap, I was hoping they might do that (and actually was brazen enough to mention to Angie she should, which was surely overstepping it a bit) ... great to see and hear that they ended up doing it, on their "almost home turf" part of the tour. And very nice harmonies, love the sound! So: What's that sound!? It's Haley and Angie singing sweetly and beautifully! Very nice ...

A guitar technician (or 'guitar tech') is a member of a music ensemble's road crew who maintains and sets up the musical equipment for one or more guitarists. Depending on the type and size of band, the guitar tech may be responsible for stringing, tuning, and adjusting electric guitars and acoustic guitars, and maintaining and setting up guitar amplifiers and other related electronic equipment such as effect pedals.

Once the guitar equipment has been set up onstage, the guitar tech does a soundcheck to ensure that the equipment is working well. If there are any problems, the guitar tech replaces or repairs the faulty components or equipment. Since guitar techs need to soundcheck the instruments and amplifiers, they must have basic guitar-playing skills, a musical "ear" for tuning, and a familiarity with the way guitars, amplifiers, and effect pedals are supposed to sound in the style of music of their band.
