RE: "The Letter" video with behind-the-scenes footage
Wow. I just listened to The Letter on my home theater system via iTunes and my Apple TV device. It sounds so much better, so much fuller. The bass is awesome. Unless you have a really good pair of headphones (i.e. expensive), you can't reproduce hearing it in a room environment with a good amount of power. So looking forward to more songs.

Imagine if Listen Up! had this production. If Haley ever has the time or money she should do a remastered version of LU a deluxe 2.0 version with updated songs with the knowledge and resources she has now with some new tunes. Her Motown and rock songs would sound great with this production.

RE: "The Letter" video with behind-the-scenes footage
I've made my issues w/ MJ and how she runs her website known, BUT one thing I enjoy is reading the posts of a long time poster there. He often has a very leveled opinion, usually knowledgeable, always thoughtful....and he's a closet Halien Not that he's hiding it, more a quiet appreciation (at least I think Incipit is a he?)
Anyways, He has always something positive and enthusiastic to say whenever a Thread is started regarding Haley.
MJ Posted a Thread about Haley's new single The Letter
and here's Incipit's thought on the single
Quote:Incipit • 23 minutes ago
Yeah, I wasn't sure what Haley was planning to do with this, but I like it a lot! The original has a bit of a laid back groove, the instrumentation on this retains the rhythm, but drives the tune forward relentlessly.
I like covers that can show me something new, a fresh way of looking at a song...Haley delivered a full bodied celebration approaching, the excellent vocals peaking sonically as the song's narrator drew level, and then blew right past us waving her letter, on the way to "going home", with the music trailing off in her wake
I was particularly pleased that she did not screw with the phrasing and thus kept the rhythm intact, which has not always been the case with covers of this song. TBH, I was already fully on board at the point where she articulated "aeroplane". Yes!
JMO. Of Course.
Always enjoy reading his posts

RE: "The Letter" video with behind-the-scenes footage
So The Letter currently has 12K views, which is probably about one quarter the number of views that BIY had at this point after it's release on YT. So what's up with that?
It's not that people don't like TL, the difference is probably just a matter of reach. BIY is posted on Haley's Vevo channel, while The Letter is on her personal channel. Notice TL doesn't have "C) 2017 Concord Music Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved" at the end or in the notes. Despite the fact that the VEVO channel had not had new material posted in more than 4 years it is more visible.
Haley's personal channel only has 19K subscribers (significantly fewer than HaleysTusk) and doesn't receive any of the promotion that Vevo might get. The song "Better" has received 445K views on this channel, but for the most part it is pretty quiet and off the radar. If she keeps releasing songs from WTS on the channel it might build some traffic over time, but right now not so much.

RE: "The Letter" video with behind-the-scenes footage
Wasn't Baby it's You also on Billboard? Bigger reach than Variety. Being on Vevo's main web page helps exposure as well
Also, we saw advertisements for Baby it's You for a couple of weeks on web sites and on You tube, none of which has been done to promote "The Letter"
Part of the video/Youtube/ social media game is putting out content consistently. At best Haley's has been start and stop, so it's hard to gain subscribers.
I've been posting video on a consistent basis for five years, even more so since Haley joined PMJ, promoted my video here, on twitter and sometimes on Instagram and still can only manage, just crossed 30,000 subscribers. IF Team Haley spent more resources on that side of promotion, she'd get more views.
That's the reason I reworked some of my videos and sent them to Haley if she wanted to use them (even offered the 'raw', unedited files for her Team to edit), putting out content if good enough, giving people a reason to visit her channel, but until there's a dedication to promote and support videos of Haley, the numbers on her own channel won't grow as quickly as we might like...
