Chislof -- a friend of Reinhart's from Wheeling High School -- was at the downtown Palatine bar with five women, including his girlfriend and Reinhart. In the early morning of July 8, Brown said, Reinhart touched a rope that was between the tables and the dance floor, angering the bouncers.

"They grabbed her arm aggressively, and (Chislof) stepped in and say, 'Hey, this is a girl' ... and put up his hand like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Then that bouncer called the other bouncers over," Brown said.

Bouncer Charged with multiple felonies

The bouncer seen on video choking "American Idol" alum Haley Reinhart's friend has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies ... TMZ has learned.

Adam Sobanski -- the bearded guy in a purple shirt -- was busted Wednesday and charged with 2 felony counts of aggravated battery ... strangling and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

Authorities say Adam had no legal justification for the choke hold that caused Alan Chislof difficulty breathing. The great bodily harm charge comes from Sobanski allegedly striking Chislof in the face several times with a closed fist.

The Bouncer in question apparently comes from Wheeling...so there's every possibility there was history between he and Haley's friend and/or Haley

Note on FB that weekend, before the story broke, Adam accused another bouncer of kneeing Haley's friend in the face when Adam and another guy had him subdued. So it's possible he's the only one being charged because they don't have video evidence of that.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — Adam Sobanski, 18, of the 100 block of Wilshire Drive, Wheeling, was charged Saturday with simple battery, assault and underage possession of alcohol after he chased a motorist and spit on a police officer, police said. While leaving Wendy's restaurant, 100 W. Rand Rd., Sobanski threatened to kill a teenager and chased him in his car, police said. No one was injured, and Sobanski was stopped near South Arlington Heights Road and Sunset Drive, police said. Sobanski was ordered to appear in court March 10.

Unfortunately Adam Sobanski is not the Bouncer that was swearing at Haley and chasing her down the stairs to make sure she got arrested for his cry-baby pansy claim of her hitting him in the face.

Adam Sopanski, 32, of Palatine is charged with two counts of aggravated battery, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Probation is also available.


He was ordered held on $45,000 bail and next appears in court on Aug. 10.

Prosecutors say handprints were visible on the neck of 30-year-old Alan Chislof, who also had a concussion, broken nose, black eyes and other injuries after the early-morning brawl on July 8.

According to Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Alyssa Grissom, Sopanski "rushed the victim, putting him in a headlock" after a bouncer argued with Chislof, who was at the bar with a group that included his girlfriend as well as Reinhart.

Sopanski then began choking the man with one hand while pushing him against the wall, Grissom said. Other bouncers attempted to separate Sopanski from Chislof, Grissom said, but Sopanski pushed Chislof to the floor and hit him with his fist.

Bartender charged with battery in incident involving 'American Idol' singer

A confrontation between patrons and staff at a Palatine bar that led to a simple battery charge against a former "American Idol" contestant has now resulted in the arrest of a bartender, authorities said.

Haley Reinhart, a former singing show contestant from northwest suburban Wheeling, was cited after police said she got into a physical altercation with staff at Lamplighter Inn Tavern & Grille in Palatine on July 8.

But on Thursday, authorities announced more serious charges of aggravated battery against a man identified as a bartender at the Lamplighter.

Adam Sobanski, 32, is accused of putting a male patron in a headlock and choking him, "impeding the victim's breathing," according to Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Gates. Gates said in court Thursday that the victim's face turned purple and he fell to the ground.

Prosecutors alleged that Sobanski continued to punch the patron in the face after he was on the ground, causing injuries that included a concussion, two black eyes, a broken nose and a cut above his eye.

Authorities said that the man who was beaten was at the bar with Reinhart and some other friends and that the trouble started when the group knocked over a table and was asked to leave.

After Reinhart was cited, her lawyer Dina LaPolt released a statement saying Reinhart had been forcibly removed from the bar before staff members "violently beat her friend, who sustained multiple injuries."

Mark A. Brown, a lawyer who said he represents the alleged victim, said the man intervened after a bouncer grabbed Reinhart's arm aggressively.

Brown, a partner with the Chicago firm Lane & Lane, said his client didn't provoke any violence, raise his fist or throw a punch.

Authorities said that at some point during the confrontation, Sobanski, who was working the bar in a back area of the tavern, came out from behind the bar and joined in the fray.

Police said they were initially called to the bar for a report of unwanted subjects. They said the investigation involved interviews with multiple patrons and staff members as well as a review of video taken during the alleged confrontation.

Bond was set for Sobanski at $45,000 Thursday. His lawyer said Sobanski is a father and a graduate of Buffalo Grove High School.

How odd the police did such a thorough investigation initially and Haley was the only one arrested.
