Hey all!
So as many of you know, Haley's birthday is coming up next month on September 9th. A lot of people have been asking me what we are doing for her this year. After doing some thinking, I really wasn't up for doing another video. It takes a lot of time and effort and I honestly haven't been feeling like myself lately to commit and do all of that. I asked some Haliens on Twitter, and most of us agreed that we are all kind of burnt out on the whole birthday video thing. We did one 3 years in row, and I LOVE THEM, but it feels like it's time to do something different.
By all means, if anyone else wants to put some sort of video together for her birthday, go for it!
That being said, this is what we came up with instead:
I think Haley would really love if we all did some research
about the 60s (especially us younger Haliens who might not know a whole lot about that era) and
choose something that inspires us from that time period, in honor of "What's That Sound?" being a 1960's covers album. I really think she'd appreciate us honing in on what clearly has inspired her considering she's putting out an entire album from that time. I personally think
it would be super cool if we all hand wrote a letter to Haley (the old fashioned way, pen on paper!) with that theme I stated above, along with our birthday wishes to her and whatever else you want to say;
then if possible, SCAN the letter to your computer, or simply take a photo of the letter you wrote, and we could all send our letters to Haley on Twitter at the same time at 9:09am on her birthday along with the hashtag [b]#HaleyWeWroteYouALetter
I ran a poll, most Twitter Haliens loved the idea and are up for it! I know there are a few problems with this though, because not everyone has a Twitter account. Perhaps if you want to participate you could send yours to a Halien and they can post yours to her on your behalf. Or maybe you could post it on Instagram (if you have an account) and tag her, or post yours in a comment somewhere to her Facebook page. Another potential issue, international Haliens who are a day ahead of us. I don't really care if some get posted early, I just think it would be great to bombard her with our letters at mostly the exact same time on her birthday. And of course when she gets the free time, hopefully she can read them all.
So, let me know what you think. That's the plan for now. And it will honestly be a lot easier for all of us. We don't have to try and look all pretty on camera and do a million takes for a short video, and I don't have to harass everyone about sending it in before a deadline. Hopefully it turns out good

DON'T POST YOUR LETTER TO HALEY UNTIL HER BIRTHDAY. IF YOU CAN, TRY AND POST IT AT 9:09AM CENTRAL TIME BECAUSE HALEY IS GOING TO BE HOME IN CHICAGO THAT DAY.
