If I was headed to my usual upstate NY instead of my usual midstate FL the day after Chicago's Lincoln Hall which is the day after seeing H.E.R. in Minneapolis, then I'd also go to her Detroit show, since I have established a knack of seeing 2 or 3 or 4 of her shows in a tour.

I spent a few late nights in the studio at the start of this week cutting a song that I've had for a while which I'm so happy to finally be recording. I played a 4 hour gig on Thursday night. Then last night, I drove from LA to Palm Springs for a Haulin' Oats gig which finished at 8:30, sped back to LA (while ripping off my wig and mustache/trying not to get pulled over) to catch a red-eye to NYC which took off at 11:15, landed in NY this morning and went straight to the venue for a gig there, packed up and immediately went to JFK to board a flight back to LA which I'm currently on. I have a gig tomorrow afternoon and then I start tour rehearsals with Haley Reinhart the following day. A few days after that, I head out on the road with her for three and a half weeks across the country playing some great music and making good memories....

I remember when I first moved to LA nearly 8 years ago and was working at Starbucks dreaming about having a schedule like this someday. I hope none of this comes off braggadocios in any way since this is not my intention. I'm just sitting here in my windows seat with a smile on my face because it's really hitting me right now that I'm doing what I've always wanted to do and I have been for a bit of time now. I'm supporting myself as a musician AND I'm happy. For all you out there who want to do that too, you can. It takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice but you can if you want it bad enough.

I'm very tired but very grateful. To those of you who always leave encouraging feedback, I love you and I appreciate you always. Okay. Gonna put this giant sleep mask on my face now that makes me look like I'm a fly and pass out.

Rehearsals just started, Haley posted a 'first look' at her band. It's possible the bass player and keyboardist are roadies doing mic check, otherwise, I have no idea who they are...
