This is how corrupt justice works. "What does the law book say?" Common Sense does not apply even if reasonable doubt is obvious. Especially when a business that pays taxes and is a source of court fee revenue in Palatine has influence and you can steal publicity by latching on to a celebrity. If this involved Joe Schmo nothing would have become of it. She will get it expunged but unfortunately it will cost more money to do so and you can't un-ring a bell. I Love that she can do what's right in sticking up for herself...a pure winner in my book.

In a way, Haley has done the 'good' people of Palatine a favor, if for whatever reason they continue to patronize the Lamplighter, it will have to be better behaved. No longer worry about getting beat up and jailed on the 'word' of the bouncer.

There is now doubt and their years of abuse is now on record and in the public spotlight. They can no longer go 'business as usual'

I know the Lamplighter is being held to some sort of account, as are some of the bouncers, I'm curious if some of the bartenders will also see some heat for overserving. Brawls and collecting fine$ for brawls is much easier when patrons are 'over lubricated'...

The local sheriff department also has to watch itself now too, the ugliness they've allowed at the Lamplighter being public means they've really got to make sure they're by the book.

As an aside, I had a long conversation w/ John Guiterrez, the trumpeter who performed w/ Midnight at BGDays 2016 a few weeks ago. He told me he thought about going down and meeting up w/ Haley and her friends at the Lamplighter's that night. He said he decided against it because he had performed there several times and it was always a 'trouble' place. He regretted not going as he wished he was there for Haley

Reinhart testified the bouncer had her pinned against a railing during the fracas. She said he was hurting her wrist and that she suffered bruising to her arm. Her attorney, Carmine Trombetta, introduced photos of a bruised arm that he said were caused during the scuffle. The pictures were taken by Reinhart with her cellphone shortly after the incident.

...(Judge) Karahalios gave some advice to Reinhart, including that she should patronize a different Palatine bar, citing the one she said went to before heading to the Lamplighter that night.

"Pay the fine and get on with life," he said. "And go back to Durty Nellie's."

Haley told her story. I heard most of it. Afterwards Harvey said he was shocked it wasn't a jury trial. Haley had stated she didn't know that was an option until afterwards.

Haley came across well, I think. She said there was another video of her trying to leave and the guy was turning around or something. Sounded to me like she might have pulled away from someone else and struck him in the process.
