IMDb doesn't yet list Haley Reinhart among the cast and crew of "We Can Be Heroes," but it does list her stunt double.

That was my interpretation. If you have a stunt double, you have a significant role. Jay did say it wasn't a bit part. I think some of the others listed under "stunts" are also stunt doubles. The doubles for Haley and Slater likely filled in their specific roles. Some bit actors have done the same.

San Diego Comic Con is being done online this year.  Robert Rodriguez was in a panel "Directors on Directing" and talks about the project, how it came about and how his family is involved in it.  Unfortunately, no mention of Haley's cameo

To be clear, he did not confirm Haley will sing, or be on the soundtrack, just that we'll be in for a surprise. That being said, Haley liked when I asked her if it's true she will be singing in the movie....again, not necessarily confirmation she will sing in Rodriguez' movie

Apparently Haley’s character is named Ms. Vox, so presumably her superpower will have something to do with her voice.

speculation time:  Haley has said she was thinking about Tarantino/Bond when she wrote "Somewhere in Between" and has said she hoped it'd be in a movie some day.

Rodriguez is "Tarantino-adjacent", they've worked together on several projects, like "From Dusk til Dawn", there's a lot of similarities between their directing style, how they both like to do projects that are 'outside the box'....

For Haley's East Coast swing, I don't know about the other shows, but Haley performed "Somewhere in Between" at the Mercury Lounge, the show Rodriguez attended w/ his kids, at least one is a big fan.  She didn't have that song on the set list on her earlier US LoFiSoulTour 

Haley mentioned that Rodriguez' son is doing the music for We Can Be Heroes....

I think IF Haley has a song in this movie, I'm going to guess it'll be "Somewhere in Between"
