I've watched some videos, it looks like Rodriguez required his kid actors to have somewhat of a physicality, training capable aspect to their attributes.  In this video, most of the kids say they were proud to be able to do their own stunts...

Haley Reinhart – We Can Be HeroesBy starrymag | January 3, 2021 

"My 'Haliens' know how much I’ve wanted to act in films and it so cool to see how kids aren’t the only ones thoroughly enjoying it."

These were two of my questions:

Q) With the name “Vox,” is there a chance you’ll be singing in the film? 

 A) I am indeed singing in the film! Robert told me there was a spot where I could sing a few lines a capella in the film… He asked me what I thought I should sing. Naturally, because of the film’s title and theme, I instantly thought of “Heroes” originally by one of my favorite artists of all time – David Bowie. I’ll never forget, I was driving on a nice sunny day, excitedly pulled my phone out and sang about a minute and a half of “Heroes,” as a ballad. Robert went for it immediately and worked the kids battle around it… I’m forever grateful that Robert allowed me to collaborate with him in this way.

Q) Did you snag any memorabilia to commemorate your first acting role?

A) I received the sweetest drawing from the ever so adorable little “Guppy” a/k/a Vivien Lyra Blair. She drew me a fox to tie into Ms. Vox. How cute is that? I also got a Netflix goodie bag with all sorts of fun memorabilia like the back of a detectors chair that reads, “Ms. Vox.”

I think I asked about the Christmas album/EP. We know the answer to that one... I'm interested in whatever the new music/EP is she said she's working on though!

I think I asked her about the future roles too... Interesting reply!
