"Soul on Fire" by Haley Reinhart

When I heard that the Deluxe Version of Listen Up! included bonus tracks, I assumed they wouldn't match the quality of the rest of the album. However, I was surprised to find that they are some of my favorite songs! It seems that the bonus tracks are not inferior songs that didn't make the standard version, but rather, more experimental departures from the vibe of the rest of the album. As for these two new tracks, I think I'm in love. This girl can do no wrong in my eyes. From what I've heard, "Soul On Fire" is downright single-worthy, and "Follow My Heart" features some of Haley's prettiest vocals ever. If this is the caliber of songs that didn't make the album, I can't even imagine what other gems are festering in obscurity on the cutting room floor...

Well said Alan...since Haley has never ceased to amaze us, the bonus tracks could have been another 10-15 songs...or a double album debut?

Is there anything she has sung that is disappointing? She Slays them all.

I've listened to the sample a bunch of times. Great tune. They should have put it on the album.

Yeah! I love the album and a lot of the songs, but I feel that this song has a lot of cross over potential whereas a lot of others, though great, I don't think would fit in Top 40.

I don't fully understand what she means when she says they are meant to be "international." It sounds like they will appear in addition to, or instead of, some of the bonus songs on an special international release of Listen Up!, but I'm not sure. They could also be released independently. Anyone have any insight on this? Also, when can we expect these songs to be released?

I don't know why they would be different other than physical copies of albums are distributed later internationally and they might feel the need to have new material on them to spark renewed interest.

Has some Beatles sound in it.

It definitely does have a Beatles sound to it. The harmony reminds me of one my favorites: "If I Fell."

Loving both of these new tunes on Sound Cloud. I haven't really thought of Adele through Haley's album, to me it just sounds like Haley. But Soul on Fire defiantly gives me an Adele vibe. I think cuz she starts off lower and has a deeper tone. I love it!

Also liking her Follow My Heart. Reminds me of a mix between Ingrid Michaelson and Regina Spektor (not just cuz of her song Fidelity, but was the first thing that came to mind). Love both of these ladys, they are more indie pop, indie folk, and indie rock. I'm a fan of this style of music and I never imagined Haley fitting into that lane, but I'm loving her vocal on it. But lets just face it what can't Haley do?
