RE: Dog Days of Summer
Your post fits with what I stated here:
http://haleyfans.com/showthread.php?tid=...09#pid9509
It also points out the need to fill the publicity machine.
The artists of old had it easy in so many ways.

RE: Dog Days of Summer
I tweeted just before the album was released that I had a touch of melancholy about the long journey with Haley coming full circle. That when the initial hoopla of the album release wore off Haley would return to a more normal life with much less tweeting, fans would move on with other interests, and Halien world would become a much quieter, less active place. I think we're seeing that starting to happen now, and while there will still be a few die hards straggling around, the wide-spread, mass-trending, daily-voting/requesting fanaticism will surely fade away.
Of course, if Haley becomes a huge megastar, with platinum albums and tabloid celebrity the frenzy would return, but that's not going to happen now or anytime soon. It's a bit of a reflective time for us even as we look ahead to her future. The true end of the American Idol Haley era occurred shortly after release day, May 22nd, and now we go on with life as we always knew it before the Halien madness took hold of our worlds.
It's normal, healthy, and doesn't mean we're not wonderful fans. It's just reality. As the old .38 special song goes, you hold on loosely, but don't let go. I'm sure being among the most devoted, we will continue to follow her career every step of the way, but maybe not obsess over small details. Time marches on...

Well it's gonna be a drought if her management don't eff'n promote her! As I've often said, she is so remarkable that she sells herself but she has to have a stage! Some sort of a forum. She really badly needs to get onto a tour, to get on some tv shows, get on some magazines... just get out there. I'm still bewildered that she can't get heard in NYC and LA! How does this not happen? I don't know shit about the music industry but she's already been discovered and everything about her is f'n near priceless. It actually really tics me off that the promotions have damned near ended.
I"m really hopeful that her Lolla gig does her some good and same with the Mayfield gig at Carnegy, but she'll need a hell of a lot more promo's than that. What with the delay on another single coming out, and or a hot video along with it? I just cannot accept that Jimmy don't see a goldmine in Haley!
HALEY = HOT AND TALENTED = $$$ = FAME

No, not drought, but a slowdown. It was bound to slow down from the March-April-May pace though.
Next week actually has quite a bit going on.
We'll see what happens in July, but wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch more radio events since she's not touring July as originally planned/hoped.
