At first, all that sets “F Is for Family” apart from its analogues is the rawness of the content. Few cable or streaming shows have applied their liberties to family sitcoms, and it lends a certain verisimilitude to arguments between a beer-drinking dad and a rebellious teenager. As you may have guessed, the “F” is not in fact only for “Family.”

...The show’s story lines — money problems, childhood rebellions — are what you might see on any animated family show. The difference is, “F for Family” treats these issues as if they’re real and lasting. It’s still a comedy, rude, raunchy and not entirely original, but it has heft and heart.

Though Frank is the show’s center, its real point-of-view character seems to be his youngest son. Bill (Haley Reinhart of “American Idol”), a wide-eyed 11-year-old with a bowl cut who, like a good ’70s kid, lives through a lot of inappropriate moments, including a disgusting and hilarious unchaperoned visit to the men’s bathroom at a minor-league football game.

To “F Is for Family,” that’s what growing up, and passing through a rudderless decade, is. You spend a lot of time wandering unsupervised. You see some things you weren’t quite ready to see. And you come out, a little tougher if not wiser, on the other side.

Wow...this show could be a big hit. Every review (but one which was middling) has had high praise for it and many are mentioning Haley as a key in the show. The fact that the New York Times is reviewing it too! And the article gives Haley such props as voicing the key point of view of the show. I bet she does a lot of voice over narration, talking about the young Bill's experiences.

What is cool is I was about the same age as Bill in 1973, so this show should all ring true. And Bill's Dad reminds me of my Dad--Irish Catholic, drinker, smoker...lol... Can't wait to see this... And as for Haley--Damn! You Go Girl! What can't you do?

Really...I can definitely see Haley becoming the musical version of Mila Kunis. (Stared in 70s show as a teen, then got a voice over role in Family Guy..and now she's A list.)

The four members of the voice cast, excluding creator Seth MacFarlane, were able to secure between $175,000 and $225,000 each per episode for at least two more seasons — and as many as five seasons of the series.

I don't know how the pay scale is structured when there are no advertisers. Though I guess it would be less.

We took a Billboard Sightseeing Cruise through Hollywood last night. I still can't believe this is all for real.

When I visited Hollywood last year, I found it odd they put up billboards of shows and movies everywhere. The industry is talking to itself.

Woulda been nice if Jimmy Fallon could have kept Bill Burr under control instead of letting Bill just doing a continuous stand up comedy act. 5 minutes of running jokes and 5 seconds about F is For Family.
