RE: Season 9 - So You Think You Can Dance
^^Well, LDH, that was a rather abrupt shift, but, perhaps it was destined to happen. And, well, it isn't Cyrus' fault that the viewers are voting for reasons other than dance. Yes, I'm not happy that George is gone, and Cyrus is still there, but I suspect you know that.
But, oh my, Eliana and Will! In Eliana's dance, there's a move (around the 1:15 - 1:17 point), where she's in -- well, I'm not certain if a standing split is considered an arabesque -- but whatever it is, she's fully extended on demi pointe, and then leaps unto her partner's shoulder. OMG -- where does the strength for that come from? It's an astonishing transition and executed to absolute perfection! It must have been so nice for Eliana to have someone like Alex to partner with. I just hope that her technical perfection doesn't/didn't go over the heads of those who vote.
And then there is the very adorable Will. Actually, I've liked him all along and have felt that how good he is has been underrated, perhaps, because he makes his dancing seem so effortless, perhaps because his "personality" as Nigel had to throw out, but I suspect part of it is because he looks so young, it seems as though he's not taking the things seriously (I know that may sound stupid but I suspect that was part of what Nigel meant). But he's shown some serious dance skills (particularly in the second week of the live shows) as well and I certainly hope he makes it through to the next round!
