Southwest just changed their policy (11 months ago, with no notice) of allowing you to cancel a ticket and rebooking. To explain, my grandson was to travel to Phoenix at Christmas. He's now not going. My daughter said ''No worries...we just cancel and then can use the credit for up to a year.'' That was the good ole' days. When she called SW to cancel it, they said no can do anymore. She is now out $500.! It turns out that my grandson is afraid of flying, and only HE can use the ticket even though he's not the buyer of that ticket. It would be nice if airlines announced this in a big way when they decide to change their policies.
