I was driving around for last minute shopping, listening to pre game talk for tonight's big Sunday night game between the 49ers and Seahawks. Allen Stone was the guest. He's going to sing the National Anthem before the game. He came up from around here.
Eventually, one of the hosts asked him what he thought about reality shows like AI and XFactor and whether he would ever try out for something like that? He said he HATED them. But not because of the artists, but because the process turns talented people into kareoke singers and pushes them through a process that neuters them. He felt that the grind of performing sometimes in front of just 10 people is what makes you better. He also said this year he has done over 260 shows alone, only back home for 15 days
I was hoping for a 'Haley' mention since she did work with him for a bit. But the closest it came was after his comment about reality singing competitions, he did concede that some of the best vocalists he had ever heard were from American Idol (must have been refering to Haley, right?)
