Elise Testone

I was thinking about that when I read this about sixth place finisher Elise Testone from Idol Season 11, who many compared to Haley. As far as I can tell, she is unsigned to a record label but working on a new CD, but here is what she is doing now per her hometown Charleston City Paper:

“…. she’s put together a band of exceptionally talented, committed musicians and together they’re creating the kind of sound that she dreamed about. She’s got two back-up singers, both of whom she sang with while in college at Coastal Carolina University; a cellist; two saxophonists, one of whom also plays the trumpet and the other the flute; and bass, drums, guitar, and piano. Currently, she’s working with a manager to book a summer tour.”

Wow---a nine piece band. What could Haley do with something like that……? Well, here is hoping that we all read a similar story about Haley and a new band soon……… Hoping, hoping, hoping.

I liked Elise through her season, and her songs are well written/ performed and I also like her unique tone...but I noticed, it's ridiculous, I know, but since Haley, I have this really high expectation for an artist to reach. It can't just be well sung and written, but it also has to hit me in the right spot, I almost expect a visceral connection with the song/performance, that I get from Haley, that I want from other singers.

I really notice it in this season's AI. I know that Candice, Kree and Angela are good.... I just can't connect with them

I am impressed with what Elise has put out, post Idol, it's just I keep looking for that 'feeling'

Elise put out a few quality vids of original (and some covers) songs, and I agree, it would be great if Haley could cobble together some artists to do something similar of equal quality

In this show she did a very strong cover of Led Zeppelin Whole Lotta Love with a good band's job
