Happy "Haley-versary"!! The day that started it all

I will never forget that day when I sat five feet from her, all the hairs on my neck and arms standing up as I let the audio ecstasy wash over me. I was also really impressed with Haley's people skills as she still remembered my name at the end of meet and greet when I asked her about Carnegie (I was second or third in line)...as she was being pulled away by her handler, not Chiara:

I wanted to wait 'til the end because, I forgot to ask Haley the question I wanted to ask. As she was walking away with her handler, I said a bunch of us wanted to know about Carnegie Hall...she beamed and said "Yes"..."Tony, (she remembered my name!! ) Let me tell you, it's a go!"

I hadn't seen these videos before, Tusk, and I really enjoyed them. The sound is great in them and I love how Keith's keyboards pop out. It is also great hearing these songs in yet another context (although it is a bit bittersweet hearing Haley talking about the exciting times of the release of her single and video). Listening to these also reminds me of what a great song Free really is. It gets a bum rap sometimes, but with a little distance the song is strong and compliments Haley's voice very well. I enjoyed this little trip down memory lane.

I am and have always been an unrepentant fan of Haley's first single...if you listen to the end of "Free", when she asks, "are we having fun yet?", you can hear me go..."awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome" (I think I blew a brain gasket)

...and as she tells us to "check it out, "Listen Up!", that's what it's called, and I'm telling you to do that as well", you can hear me say "already ordered" to which she giggles and says "thanks"

Also, this is THE performance that made me fall in love with Keith and Haley on "Now That You're Here". The interlude/bridge with Haley's vocals and Keith's Keys is Heavenly

The sound engineer was Matt Loi, and he took extra pride in making the audio extra good

(Too bad the video was low resolution, turned out the station was 'on the cheap' about that part of things...they were more interested in the audio...even the pics of the meet and greet were pretty low resolution too ...Still, better than nothing and the audio is excellent)
