I never was a huge fan of Whitney Houston, but I was intrigued by the amount of power and control that she could put behind her voice. She definitely was gospel trained. Towards the end of her career she had made a futile attempt to try to make it happen one more time in a recording. The song that I'm referring to I believe the name of it is (I look to you). You could really tell that she had no more power left in her voice and that her runs were beginning to diminish. Her Once angelic voice was starting to display a degree of raspyness. Very uncharacteristic of Whitney. But to my understanding the album and in the song was a success and I believe it went platinum or gold one of the to. I'm sorry this had to happen to an extremely talented singer, I'm sure myself and a lot of other people don't want to draw to conclusion, but I do suspect that drugs had a role in the dismissal of this beautiful woman's life. Rest in peace Whitney.
